Great place to store with 24/7 Access as long as your blue tooth is working and you actually bring your phone... Staff is great as well. 4 Star Review because they RAISE the rent OFTEN. Been renting here since April 2020 and we started at $120 now we pay $155 ? Two rent increases in 3 years so far so expect to pay more the longer you rent here.

One of the easiest and best experiences ever renting anything. The smart lock in and outsystem was a little strange to me at first but after doing it a couple times it has became very simple and easy. My unit was very very convenient and clean with lots of room to load and unload without being in the way of others. Staff is very helpful and friendly! I give Smart Storage 10 stars and vote 1# in Bonner County. Lots of lighting at night although lighting in unit would be amazing I'm not complaining for their bright outdoor lighting provides enough to manage at night by shining in my unit!

Very nice facility! High-tech for Sandpoint :)If you are tired of loosing your storage key, this place is your solution! Keyless everything. I believe I briefly spoke to the manager/owner, very nice lady. Our customers that have stored with them have been very impressed. 7B Moving definitely recommends this business!!

Extremely stressful experience, Locked out of the entire facility, No staff in office during written office hours, No one answering the phone
I'm pretty hesitant to write reviews that point out a business' flaws, but our experience was so bad that it needs to be said out loud. I understand that any new business has kinks that need to be worked out, but when these kinks cause a real problem for your very first customers, you need to address their concerns and make the situation right for them. Our family was excited to utilize Sandpoint Smart Storage's new facility, as it is brand new and looks to have good security. Unfortunately this business did not uphold their written and verbal promises, and refused to compensate my family after many mistakes were made at our expense.
We paid for our new unit and toured the facility on the day before our move in to make sure any kinks would be worked out prior to our move. Moving is always a stressful time, and with inclement weather on the way, we planned this move carefully and communicated with staff at Sandpoint Smart Storage to let them know we would be moving in the next day. We were assured that a staff member would be present until 3:30pm on our move in date in case any problems arose.
We thought very highly of this new facility until the next day when we arrived at 2:45, and there was no staff present. The office was closed. The front gate would not open. There was a moving truck and three cars parked ahead of us also trying to access the facility, so our two trucks and trailers were in GN Road, causing one way traffic and putting our vehicles at risk for the next two hours. No one answered the phone, as I left 4 voicemails and tried the number many times over the course of the next 2 hours. The "emergency" phone number I had asked for the previous day turned out to be useless. Two more vehicles showed up behind us and another UHaul turned and left rather than join the line. One family plus our family began to unload our items from outside the gate and walk them all the way to our units in the 28 degree weather, and now in the dark (an almost impossible task for me, as I am 5 months pregnant). Our family did not have the option to go home and unload the next day, Monday, which is a work day for both myself and my husband. The other family said they could not afford to pay another night on their UHaul truck.
Two hours from when we arrived, a serviceman arrived and opened the gate. We unloaded the rest of our things in the dark by flashlight. We were unable to drive the loaned truck and trailer back (an hour away from Sandpoint) that night due to the ordeal, so we brought it home, which sparked an angry outburst from our neighbor. We now have to deal with an ongoing soured relationship with our neighbor. While you can't really put a monetary value on having a happy neighbor (its worth a lot), you can certainly put a monetary value on wages lost due to work missed due to returning a truck and trailer that had to be back asap. Both my husband and I lost a half day of work and put the business we work for behind for the rest of the week. I stated this both in person and in an email to Sandpoint Smart Storage.
Our combined income lost due to missed work from Sandpoint Smart Storage's lack of preparedness is $200-300, and we only asked for a portion of that, not all of it. The owner's response was to add backups to the gate and credit our account $50 (The owner wrote to us that they feel this is a generous offer). We were guaranteed in person that a staff member would be present until 3:30, and they were not. Their website guarantees office hours until 4:30, which was not accurate. We were guaranteed 24 hour access to the facility, which was not true. We were guaranteed top notch customer service (take a look at the screenshot taken directly from their website, below) but no one answered the phone for two hours during their open office hours. No o
