I had to post two pictures of each because they're so beautiful! Amethyst in 14k gold and Opal in 14k gold.Thank you so much for these beautiful pieces. I'm 110% satisfied. The extra gifts were very thoughtful and appreciated too."There's opal in them jars"Nothing like looking at beautiful colors under a bright light ?I plan on getting a mans ring someday. Silver with a large opal. I'd like to visit, find a beautiful Opal and have you all set it for me. People can dream.Thank you so much for everything and I really appreciate the time and effort.Delivery was fast. Thanks for the postcards too

This place has a variety of rocks and is a very nice place to visit. You can even mine for your own rock outside the building around the back. However, you have to bring your own ear and eye protection. No opened toed shoes, and no pets are allowed for the mining ground. However, you can bring pets into the building itself.

Don’t bring your kids. You have to be over the age of 16 to do this.

This was a great place to visit with the whole family, the owner was super friendly, and the staff helped to find some nice opals at the pit, be prepared to spend some quality time looking for opals, if you put an effort you will be rewarded with some nice findings as we did, the food is good, beware that you need to be at least 16 years old to have a chance at it but is understandable due to posible liability issues as it is a bit physical. We have a great time and found nice pieces of opal, thank you.

My wife and I had a terrible very disappointing experience at Spencer Opal Mine and we drove 6 hours to do this.If you take the time to call ask very detailed questions and get a name of who you are talking to.The older larger lady at the Spencer Opal Mine give very vague misinformation. Here are some examples. She says come to her shop and mine for opals yourself for $75 a bucket. Sounds exciting and fun. It's not mining or even close to it. They dump a couple truck loads of the waste rock that has already had close to all the opal removed from it in a part of the parking lot and you get to look through it.It gets better. On the phone she tells you $75 a bucket. When you get there she'll tell you $75 a person and they give you a bucket. These are the $1 store buckets they give you. If you ask why you were told $75 a bucket over the phone instead of the truth. She side steps the question and suggest one of you pay and the other person go check the town out. By the way there's nothing to check out unless you are into looking a private homes of a dying town.I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. You can literally go to free public lands where opal is located for less the the $150 we spent to find a couple specks of opal smaller than a grain of rice.If you do go bring shovels, sifting screens, rock hammers, gloves and pad to kneel on and spend from open to close there and maybe you'll find a speck of opal. This place won't suggest you need or bring anything until your already there and they don't provide anything more than a $1 store bucket. It's a rip-off for $75 a person.

After an enjoyable visit last year, we decided to try our hand again this year. It takes work, and you may get a little sunburnt, but we found some beautiful stones. If you don’t want to work for it, you can purchase a range of sorted packages of rough materials, or pick up some of the beautiful finished pieces they have. I recommend supportive shoes, a pad or something to sit on, and sunscreen. The cheeseburger and fries are outstanding!

This place is purely amazing for gemstone hunters, nice pile to sift through for opals and good food inside making it very nice to cool off. You must meet this family!

The people here were very rude! The younger guy working the front seemed like he just wanted to shuffle us off as quick as possible so he could get back to his phone. I've been through a lot of small towns, but never have I encountered one with so many rude people

I went to this place roughly 20 years ago, loved every moment there. I really wished I could have stayed longer but, alas I was only able to stay1.5 hrs. If I could go back there again I would. The staff were wonderful and treated my curiosity with enthusiasm. I still have two large stones I bought there and, I think it's time I cracked those puppies open.
