The main living area, fireplace, master bedroom and kitchen are very beautiful and comfortable but the second bedroom ? is better for children having only two single beds in a small room. The kitchen is new and stocked with pans and plates etc. Everything was clean. The buildings are separated and many of the rooms enter directly to the outside which would be nicer in the summer than in the winter. Fortunately, our room had a small hallway that was heated ?I stayed in the small bedroom and it was cold and I could not get the thermostat to change the temperature. The name of the resort implies that it is at Sun valley ski resort , something I should have double checked, but it is on the other side of town. There is more to the resort that I didn’t have time to explore.Over all, this would be a nice room for a small family.I feel that the value is low, considering the cost and the distance from the resort. Also, I’m not so sure if the mechanical issue was a problem or ProgrammedOverall, I would not discourage anyone from going there since it is a beautiful location.

Just to say Sun Valley Resort it needs no more. It is a high end destination year round. Great for travelers either family, friends, couples or singles. Outdoor activities all around the area. This makes Sun Valley the jewel of Idaho.

Absolutely love this ski resort.Excellent staff. In my 50+ years of skiing I have never experienced such friendly, kind service. Everywhere I turned when I asked a question or I was trying to find where I was going I was met with friendly knowlwdgable people. The food at the dining halls was very good Prices were reasonable not too crazy. This is a beautiful resort and a gorgeous setting. The runs are very nice, and it was great to be at a place where I didn't have to wait a long time in line. Such a great thing considering you pay $200 a day to ski. Many of the runs that need to be groomed or groomed, as it had just stormed the night beforeCan't wait to come back!

Fabulous ladies' getaway! Luxury and so beautiful, with wonderful, friendly staff. Kudos to Maurine at the spa, she gave me the most incredible facial, best I have ever received. The spa shower experience was incredible. Floating in the swimming pool, surrounded snow covered mountains was fabulous. Food (breakfast and dinner)in Gretchens' was perfect and the service was superb. We cannot wait to come back! Thank you!

I'm writing this review to express my concern over the safety measures at Sun Valley Resort. I've seen staff members behaving recklessly on the slopes, posing a risk to others. This isn't something you'd expect from a resort that prides itself on being a family-friendly destination. Moreover, the customer service in addressing these issues is severely lacking. Attempts to discuss my concerns were met with indifference.Safety: Their employee snowboarded into my dog while he was looking over his back should and talking to someone behind him. My dog and I were welcomed to be on the property and even ski after hours, but we were just standing around at the base area by the outdoor ticket office when my golden retriever was struck by the negligent employee. The resort is not accepting liability despite their clear responsibility. They tried of buy my love with a "good gesture payment" but they need to be held responsible for the bills associated with this at the very least. I'm tired of them thinking they can say and do whatever they want even when it involves life-altering circumstances. My dog almost bled out- the snowboarder sliced a major artery! My dog is lucky to be alive, but I should not have to go into debt over these medical bills that they caused.

Historical Sun Valley feel. Great food and drinks amid comfy coutches and chairs, amid fireplaces, if you want to, or a traditional dining area. Very nice hot tub and heated pool. Gym, sauna, and ice skating rink round out the resort. Great staff everywhere and shopping and other dining available at a village 300 feet from resort.Nearby activities: Resort shuttles and public bus system make downtown Ketchum and ski lodges very accessible.

Had a nice time staying here. Room was much bigger than expected. Bathroom was large. In room gas fireplace. Pool was great and drink service at the pool was fast. Frequent busses to town and the mountain.

Sun Valley needs a ski in/out spot (there are none), and this isn't it either. Still, the history and number of famous visitors here is impressive.

I can’t give my favorite place to go less than a 3 no matter what. Our stay is always amazing but this time was a little disappointing. We had reservations at the Inn but they upgraded us to the Lodge as the Inn was closed. We did not see this until the morning, but next to the bed in the corner was something all over the wall and carpet. I don’t know what, as I did not care to inspect. I told the front desk and they sent someone to clean it up while we were out of the room. The next time I went to the desk and spoke to the man behind the reservation counter, (the one I reported the incident to), he seemed rather cold- as if I had done something wrong. He did not say sorry, thank you for letting us know, nothing. It was as if he thought someone in our party were responsible. I do wonder how in the world the cleaning crew could have missed that. It wasn’t small. I blew that off….we’re here to have a relaxing stay after all. We went to the hot tub and it was closed. The pool was colder than normal- when I asked about the pool temp. I was told it was to accommodate pregnant woman. I was told the maintenance person put too much chlorine in the hot tub so they had to wait until it was at safe levels for anyone to use it. It remained closed until our last day there. Our last day there, I saw a maintenance guy working on it so I asked him if we could use it yet. He put some Bromine in and said yes, let the Bromine stir for 5 minutes then we were able to use it. We and several other folks who had been patiently waiting for several days, got in. Then the pool guy came over and said we had to get out. We told him what the maintenance guy said and he said it did not matter, until he heard from the maintenance guy himself, the hot tub was closed. All parties in the hot tub stayed in so the pool guy started to drain the hot tub and boy did it drain quickly. My question (and everyone else’s) was why didn’t they drain it and fill it back up when this first happened??? Anyway- after that, the hot tub was cold the rest of the time we were there. So no hot tub for us. Sadly, not the best stay we have experienced. We like to go in November because there aren’t any crowds. We won’t be going back to SV in November any time soon. One last weird thing that I told the front desk about. I used the stairwell to go between floors to get ice. There was silverware in a large pile next to the door on the floor, in the stairwell. Just a little weird, but nothing that would impact our stay- though I did wonder if that could have been a nefarious act by an employee.
