We are from Oregon and he is excited to take his new skills back and continue to grow as a rider. Totally worth it, super pleased with our experience. I would love to bring him back next year and do it again with Ashley W. Thank you Ashley and Sun Valley Snowsports School YOU ROCK!!!

Sun Valley is my favorite place to visit and ski. Sun Valley offers the best of everything. The lodge and the Inn are beautiful and convenient with superb staff and service. The amenities are endless. While it’s not ski in/ ski out, it could not be any easier to get to the base or into town via the shuttle. We had a group of 12 and the hotel shuttled us to and from dinner on 2 occasions. Zachary and Justin were gracious and prompt drivers. The hot pool is a nice treat at the end of the day. Lorena waited on our group at the hot pool and was very friendly, as well as patient with our large group. Ken and Melanie were particularly helpful getting us set up and expedited into our hot pool session. This was my 3rd visit to Sun Valley Resort and it gets better every visit.

Sun Valley is our Favorite NA Ski resort and we have skied almost everywhere in Colorado, CA, Utah, NM and Canada. This was our 3rd visit in 5 years. The mountain and the town have a down home feel and folks are incredibly friendly. The mountain can be challenging but SV grooms almost every Blue and Green run every night. SV also has great snow making so even in a year like 2021 where not much snow has fallen, SV still has plenty. We skied all over but our favorite is Seattle Ridge Runs. They say Green on the map, but most are probably blues in any other resort. No houses on the Mountain which are a true Ski experience and also keeps the crowds away. Not easy to get to but worth it when you get there!

we had a good yet challenging time playing the White Cloud course. The layout takes you from the valley floor to the top of the surrounding hills with spectacular views of the resort, Ketchum and My Baldy. We recommend you review the course layout prior to play as a good drive down the middle of the fairway may result in a lost ball! This is a shotmakers layout - a long drive may not be the answer on many holes. You can do what we did and play it once with a supply go old golf balls ignoring the number of lost balls. It is worth the investment you will be rewarded with some of the best views in town.

We skied for three days (March 1-3) at Bald Mountain, sticking to the intermediate runs. It had been a mild winter and there was little snow except on the runs themselves, and no snow fell while we were there. So the conditions were not ideal, although they did a good job of grooming what they had on the Warm Springs side. We enjoyed the blue and green trails in that area (Greyhawk and Challenger lifts) very much. We ventured over to the River Run side once and came down the trail called Olympic, but were disappointed to see grass sticking up through the little snow that was there. Riding up the River Run lift there was no snow underneath. So we went back to Warm Springs and stayed there. Lift lines were nonexistent which was great. They do have lift attendants scanning your ticket all day. There are convenient restrooms in Warm Springs Lodge at the bottom (with attendants keeping them clean constantly) and also in the Lookout Restaurant at the top, no stairs needed to access them. This mountain is not as high in elevation as many resorts in the Rockies, so it’s not quite as strenuous to ski here for those of us more accustomed to sea level.

This mountain is beautiful and has tons of great runs if you like steep blues and blacks. DO NOT ski/snowboard here unless you are comfortable with steep runs! If you are a beginner go to Dollar Mountain 10 mins away.

Garrett was amazing. Our kids have never skied and have only been in snow once before (LA kids). By afternoon Garrett had them going up the chairlift and zooming down the mountain. They loved every minute and couldn't wait to go back and ski with Mom and Dad the next day. The whole facility is family friendly. But a special shoutout to Garrett who was a magician as well as a super nice guy.

I can't say my skiing has improved tremendously since 2006, but I'm 99% to blame for that one since throwing myself down a mountain is scary when you're in your 30s! I have gotten really good at the chair lift I so dreaded getting off of in 2006 though. During the past 2 years our kids have joined us for ski adventures in Sun Valley. And I really want them to learn to ski as kids because it's a lot less scary going down the mountain when you're lower to the ground and haven't developed the sense of adult fear. We've visited with another family and have put our 4 kids in ski school the past few years. It's a long day of skiing (9:45am-3pm), but they give them lots of unhealthy food and hot cocoa to fuel up on to keep their energy up. We do March skiing since any earlier is just too cold IMO, but I've heard it's also a quieter time of year in ski school. Apparently they have 400 kids/day over Christmas time. In comparison there were less than 20 kids/day in mid March. My kids have had anywhere from a private instructor to just a few other kids in their group. All their instructors have been good, but I have to give major props to Simon, Don & Julia who got my cautious daughter skiing all of dollar mountain...and she's obsessed! My kindergartener didn't love ski school quite as much this year so I ended pulling him out for private lessons which he did love. Every kid is different and from what I hear every year is different...he did great in ski school last year. The nice thing is that they were good about refunding my money when he wasn't feeling ski school so that I could put that towards private lessons instead. Speaking of private lessons my entire family has worked with Clay Bowling who is the absolute best. He's fantastic with both kids and adults, has so many great tips/tricks for the slopes, is beyond patient and cares so much about those he teaches. We heard from him several times throughout the year and now consider him a friend. I can't imagine skiing at Sun Valley (or anywhere without him). They do seem to be in a bit of a transition right now without one supervisor who is in charge of all of ski school (from my understanding someone left and the role is now being split among a few people for the rest of the season). It would be great to have one person to chat to everyday so I hope they figure that out for next year. In the meantime, my kids can't wait to hit the slopes again next year!

This place was amazing. Being from Wisconsin - our crew felt this place reminded us of a classic Wisconsin Supper Club - except just at 7,800 and almost at the top of a mountain. So trust us when we say the food was excellent! And the views.... make sure you try and get a reservation before sunset - the gondola ride was breathtaking and the views were stunning. Excellent service from the always attentive Jeremy from Arkansas!! Would definitely go back!!

Get your best friends and your ski legs over here for a mid day lunch of the most amazing fondue. Our charming and Uber helpful waiter Kennith George helped us pair a lively and crisp Austrian Laurenz weltlinger wine with the fondue and it was pure perfection. It rivaled the fresh snow on bald mountain this morning. Now, gotta get off the mountain to grab the kids from school. We will be back....

Food here is great. Service is ok. Dont bother showing up if you dont have a reservation...especially if you have a large group. You will find that you will fend for yourself by hovering over guests wrapping up their meals so that someone else doesnt steal your table. Be warned. You need patience to eat here and even more patience to camp out and get a table.
