The Herrett Center hosts special events like free telescope viewings on the second Saturday of each month, star parties, and planetarium shows, which require tickets. The planetarium shows are affordable, and the star parties are especially popular with night owls interested in stars. In 2004, the center had the largest wheelchair accessible telescope in the world.
