About Sierra Silver Mine Tour, Inc.
Sierra Silver Mine Tour, Inc. offers a unique and educational underground experience in a real silver mine. Visitors are guided by retired miners who share their personal underground experiences and demonstrate traditional mining equipment, providing insight into both modern and historical methods of hard-rock silver mining. The tour includes walking through the main drift of the mine, which involves navigating uneven ground, steep trails, and stairs, so visitors are advised to wear a light jacket and ear protection, especially for children due to the loud equipment demonstrations. The tour lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes and begins every half hour. It is suitable for all ages and is highly praised for its enthusiastic guides, who go out of their way to make the experience memorable—taking photos for guests, sharing stories, and showing genuine interest in teaching. Outside the mine, visitors can enjoy a narrated tour of Historic Wallace, Idaho, a colorful 138-year-old mining camp, and explore the ice cream parlor or try gold and gemstone panning. The staff is friendly and enthusiastic, making the visit enjoyable for families, groups, and individuals alike. Overall, this tour is considered a highlight and a must-see for those interested in mining history and adventure.

Fun, informative tour, cute quant little mtn town. We hit it at the right time, and were able to enjoy the local “huckleberry festival” as well!

Really enjoyed the tour. Rode the bus to the site, walked up a steep trail that also had stairs, and then walked on uneven ground through the mine. Great learning experience.
