The staff members are friendly and the mechanics are knowledgeable. Have been doing business with them for years and am happy with the service there. Just one thing FYI. There is no extra charge if you pay with cash, check, or debit card. If you pay with a credit card there is a 3% surcharge. Last week I paid for a repair and it cost me an extra $35. I did not see any sign posted with this info and no one mentioned it before I paid. If I had been aware of the surcharge I would have used another form of payment. If your repair is a big one it can really add to the cost. Not a complaint but I just want to spread the word.

On June 6, 2025 I purchased my new car from Essig Motors in Aledo, Illinois. I had the BEST experience when I first went to Essig Motors to look at, and test-drive vehicles. I had A LOT of questions, and wanted to test-drive several vehicles, and sales consultant Doug Lamkin was SUPER helpful. I have never enjoyed my car buying experience until now! Doug was able to answer all of my questions, and was available to let me test-drive as many cars as I wanted. He wasn't pushing options for my new car that I didn't need or care to have! He (and Julie) were able to locate the exact car that I wanted to purchase!! My experience with Doug was AMAZING! He is truly a valuable employee at Essig!

Cross threaded my oil plug, fix is 475$. They broke two of my TPMS sensors and valve stems, I had to pay to replace. Won’t take responsibility for any of their mess ups and I’m out 700$ for their carelessness.

Saw a truck online that they had for sale. I sent in a contact request thru a third party sight. I was contacted almost immediately by Sheldon. Made a deal with him and within 4 days I flew from NC to IL where Sheldon drove 45 minutes to the airport to pick me up. Truck was as advertised. So I bought it and drove the 850 miles home with no issues. Great experience with Sheldon especially and with the dealership.

I recently purchased a 2010 Chevrolet Express 1500LT AWD full-size van from Essig Motors in Aledo, IL. It was one of the most horrible customer experiences I’ve ever had with a dealership. They sold me a vehicle that they KNEW was horribly infested with rodents. They chemically bombed the van a few days before I test drove the vehicle so that it smelled like a new vehicle. I had also requested several wear items be repaired before I picked up the vehicle, and I would pay for the repairs out-of-pocket. After waiting almost two weeks, the salesman called & said the van was ready to be picked up! Upon arriving at the dealership, I observed that the items I requested to be repaired were never repaired, and the license plates hadn’t even been installed on the vehicle! After discovering the rodent situation a couple weeks later, (which included a mouse nest being sucked into the main HVAC blower, ground up and blown into my face completely blinding me while passing a semi-truck on I-74) I spoke with the sales manager Julie Price, and kindly requested that they share the costs for the items that were damaged. She refused. I asked for a copy of the service records, and the salesman promptly printed out a copy. I reviewed the paperwork & showed her on their own service records that ESSIG MOTORS had just “Chemically Bombed For Smell”. She replied that “it doesn’t state the smell was from rodents…just says smell…we have no idea if the smell was caused by rodents or vaping”. I noticed that the freshly printed service records had the previous owners’ names and address on them, so I drove to their house & discovered that they had both just recently passed away. I spoke with their son, and he stated that the rodent infestation was a known and constant battle since it was barely driven & stored in a barn for almost 10 years. He stated that ESSIGS KNEW about the issue and had chemically bombed the vehicle multiple times through the years!!! Since ESSIG MOTORS refused to do anything about the situation, I filed a claim with my insurance company. Needless to say, the van has been in the process of being repaired by two body shops over the past 12 weeks and counting! Do not do business with ESSIG MOTORS…they will sell you a known defective vehicle and will act completely innocent and wash their hands of any responsibility. PLEASE learn from my mistakes and save yourself a lot of disappointment, anxiety, and ulcers…go ANYWHERE but ESSIG MOTORS!!!

Sheldon DeFrieze made buying our new truck as effortlessly and smooth as possible! We called arrived extremely close to closing time and the whole staff stayed over without making us feel rushed at all, even allowing a test drive despite being past closing time. All the paperwork was drawn up and took less than an hour for the entire buying process from meeting to driving away with our new vehicle!

I went to Essig after I had a bad experience at another dealership. Essig was very straightforward and clear with their prices and offers. The staff was great to work with. They made paperwork a breeze. I’ll definitely go back.

I've been looking for a SUV for about a year. I was inquiring about two of the Chevy traverses on the lot. When I got there they were ready to go and no pressure to buy something different.Vance was was great to work with ,he made everything easy ,and answered all my questions I had. Julie in accounting did her best to get me the best deal..
