The people are nice . I brought my rabbit in she wasn't feeling good . The doctor wanted to help us to get her well . He was nice and he listen to you.the staff was awesome and amazing.

Our beloved family pet Pastel had gotten sick. After searching and calling multiple veterinarians, we were referred to Algonquin Animal Clinic. There, she was diagnosed with a grave disease. We found ourselves facing a dreaded and tough decision. We had two options. The first one will
help our little gecko ease the pain that came with the diagnosis. The other was a heartbreaking, much greater, and painful decision. In the hopes that somehow the disease will disappear, we opted for medical treatment.
We kept ourselves hopful and went home with various medications, which she didn't find very appealing, and refused to take for the most part. We quickly realized she was not getting better, as the vet had told us. At this point, we had to make that dreaded decision. We had to choose our second option.
We called the vet clinic and told them we would bring our little gecko to have her euthanized. The person on the other side of the phone was very helpful, understanding, and supportive. This decision has left us heartbroken but has given our little gecko painless and peaceful passing.
We are very thankful to Dr. Duran and all the staff for their support and compassion during this very difficult experience.

We are heartbroken that our little rabbit passed away this morning due to the actions of one of the new vet techs. Our rabbit was fine for a few days until yesterday afternoon. We called the vet on the day of the appointment to make sure that we had the appointment set on that day. She was rude over the phone and said we didn't have an appointment that day. Later that day another staff had called us to inform us that we indeed did have an appointment that day and had to reschedule. Our bunny suffered and got sicker without our knowledge. We fed her everything they gave us and told us to wait for our next appointment. But we think the medication they gave us overdosed her. The vet never gave the bunny a diagnostic test, so we weren't really sure of her condition.

I’m extremely disappointed to be writing this review but feel like I have a moral obligation to warn others with very sick animals not to come here. To start, I have always really liked dr Durante. He is very kind and reassuring. The problem is that he had reassured me twice, that two of our very sick pets were ok. We brought my rabbit to him a few years ago because she was making choking sounds and had trouble breathing. He tried to treat her for an upper respiratory infection for months without doing diagnostic testing. She got sicker and a vet who is not even an exotic vet diagnosed her with heart failure. She didn’t live very long after the diagnosis because it had progressed quickly.
I have a Quaker parrot who lost 10% of her body weight when I took her to see dr Durante back in October 2023. He wasn’t concerned about the weight loss. He didn’t recommend bloodwork but I asked for it anyway. Again, he was very reassuring that nothing was wrong. Her bloodwork was not bad at the time but I was not taken seriously. The cause of her weight loss should have been investigated more. Turns out that her liver is failing and she is severely anemic. She needs other testing to determine why this is happening at a pretty young age. I trusted my gut and took her in as soon as I noticed something was wrong. Exotic animals, especially birds, don’t show symptoms of sickness until it is too late. I have given this vet too much money for him to not properly diagnose illness in my pets. The consequences are fatal and my bird probably won’t survive. Early intervention could have saved her or at least kept her stable.
I do not write nasty reviews but my life revolves around my animals. Dr Durante’s mistakes have caused two of my companions to suffer until they saw other vets who validated my concerns. I will never bring another animal back here again.

Very positive experience! They were able to get me in fast, and did a very through job during the exam. I'm glad I was able to find a new exotic vet! Every single staff member was super nice, caring, and attentive. I will definitely be recommending them!

Such a great vet. I’ve taken two Guinea pigs here and the doctor is very knowledgeable, and he is always great at explaining the issues going on. Additionally, the front office staff are super kind and accommodating I would recommend Algonquin animal clinic to anyone looking for a vet you can trust. I’ve been to multiple vets and they weren’t bad but you can tell they really care about giving the best treatment possible here.

The doctor messed up my birds beak and only did part of her nails. When I asked him to look at it again he said that nothing was wrong. I ended up taking her to Niles animal clinic fir them to correct her beak and nails. This doctor is terrible

They claim to take care of exotic birds, but when I took my African Grey there the made a mess of her beak and the cut her nails and clipped it short that it bleed, she was sore for a few days , they charged me $ ***** for this bad appointment. I took her back and the doctor must have been blind , cause he said he didn't see anything wrong. I will never take her there again, they are terrible.
