I want to acknowledge Matt, Assistant Manager at the Home Depot store in Algonquin. I had a problem with a storage rack that I ordered online. Two of the boards were not cut to correct size but unfortunately we didn't find out until it was too late to send the item back. The rack had already been assembled except for the boards to be put up. I was told that nothing could be done by the return desk employee, however, Matt found a way to help me out and the issue was resolved. Thanks for caring, Matt!

I got put on hold 3 times while trying to order deck boards and nobody from lumber ever picked up the phone. The operator said they busy, call back later. I'll call someone else.

Reserved a chainsaw. Need to cut a tree up on my property. Went to pick up. Asked me a shady question if I have a lot to do. The guy then proceeded to try and start the unit he was going to give me. He couldn't start it, violently tried too, and flooded the motor. So he grabbed the only other Makita piece of garbage they had. Tried to start that one, again violently trying his hardest making it look very difficult, finally got it started. Bottom line is, if these were properly maintained, you wouldn't have to beat on them your hardest to try and start. I've worked with plenty of chainsaws to know. Guys don't know what they're doing and can't admit it and will have no problem sending you home with a piece of garbage if you don't stop them. They chuckled when I said no go.

I was looking for a new handle for a storm door and was told that there was a $98 storm door installation going on at the time and I would save about $100 on normal installation price. I had to put $40 for them to send someone out to measure but that $40 would be applied to the $98. I received a phone call a few days later saying the installation was $234! I told them I was quoted $98 and he said there was something extra that had to be done and the installation was now $234 and the storm door I picked out was not in stock so I'd have to pay around $90 more for the one they had in stock. I was lied to about the installation price and the cost of the door. Very poor customer service

Ordered a smart thermostat online. The Algonquin store filled the order and delivered very early in the morning, which was great. However, the store delivered the lower version of the smart thermostat to me which was about $100 cheaper. I called and was connected with the Algonquin store. They said that they didn't have the version I ordered, that it would be a few days, and that I would have to bring the incorrect item in for a refund. They didn't apologize for their mistakes, nor offered me anything for my inconvenience. They said that there was nothing they can do. As a Veteran, Home Depot Pro, and former Home Depot employee, I am very disappointed by the horrible customer service this store displays with online orders.

Bought windows over 2 years ago. They installed the wrong ones. Wife has spoken to 4 different people and still gets the runaround. Paid extra for the wrong product to be installed. Buyer beware!

I placed a curbside order. Got to the store and checked in and waited 10-15 minutes before going in the store. Once in the store, I found 4 associates huddled around a printer. They asked if they could help and I explained the situation. One of the associates started shaking her head that the check-in didn’t come in. She went to the computer and magically the order was there. She retrieved the order and made a fake attempt at an apology. Don’t tell me about a staff shortage when 4 people are standing around a printer!! And not doing their jobs!!

If I could rate them a 0I would. Buyer beware! They did a horrible job installing our floors. We had an inspector come out and the floors need to be fixed and leveled properly per the inspection report because the gaps we are noticing in are floors are just gonna get worse per the inspector. They damaged $3500 of our property and they are not reimbursing us for the damage that we caused. Right now we are out 25 grand for the floors because they won't fix the poor installation even after 4 attempts they cannot get the job done right. On top of that we have to pay another company to come out and redo the horrible job they did. If you get any installation done here expect it to be done wrong and your personal property to get damaged. And expect them not to answer you because that's what they have done even after we reached out to the bbb and provided proof of inspection. They will not even acknowledge the inspection report... g I wonder why?

This was the local go to, for obvious reasons. Prices are better than Lowes, and so is quality. Store manager build great rapport with me, even showed me the benefits of a "pro" account per my prerogative. Recently moved back west. Will miss this location. As with life; the wheels keep turning! Great job, great store, great people!

I recently visited this location of Home Depot because I was near the area and this place was on my way, so I decided to drop by when I remembered that I needed tools and other stuff that was available inside. There is ample parking. The place is busy, and I find my way around. It is clean. It is also easy to locate anything because everything is well-organized according to their use, with big names written above. What I like about this place is that everything is available when it comes to tools, supplies, appliances, and the like. I did not really get the chance to explore the whole place because I went to the checkout right after I found and got everything that I wanted to buy. The checkout was super busy, and there was a long line. I was just glad that when it was my turn, it was quick and easy since I did not buy a lot. So far, the tools that I bought are still in good condition, as new, and they are definitely of good quality. I considered it one of the useful purchases I made at Home Depot, and it was also reasonable.

Tried to have a exterior door bought and installed by this Home Depot. Started the order on 9/1/2021 now it's 10/2/2021. Between many phone calls from me because they never called me. miscommunications and wrong information they have on me and no return calls. Terrible service

Customers should not be subject to other people's dogs. I should not have to wait to get checked out because 3 employees are letting a dog. It's just ridiculous.

Love home Depot, but the people they use for Plumbing DRF, said they were going to either call me or let me know if I can make a split payment to install my garbage disposal. They never called me or emailed me. Poor customer service.

Even though this is more about ordering on the website, when I posted this on their Facebook page they immediately deleted it. Since the local stores fulfill the orders, maybe they care more than the "big guys" that they are losing a formerly loyal customer. Home Depot has probably lost my business for good. I have been looking for a chest freezer for a month and had decided a particular Frigidaire 14.8-cu ft Manual Defrost Chest was a perfect replacement for us. I was thrilled to see they had it in stock and immediately put it in my cart, put in updated CC information, selected a delivery date of 11/18 and everything was fine until I noticed a "would you like our CC and get $50 off" offer. My wife said "well we have a list of paint I was going to buy and a dishwasher we are going to get next month maybe we should." Big mistake, since even though the application says it accepts home phones it then tried to text a verification code to my home number! I said screw it (even though my credit score is now probably dinged for the inquiry) and went back to the still open order only to it show the item was no longer available! Any other online store I've ever used puts your product on hold once you start the check out process. This is a basic feature. So in essence I was penalized by Home Depot because I was going to get their credit card! I called customer service and though she was very nice she said there was nothing she could do. The product was now back ordered with no date listed for when it would come in. Well, there is something I can do, consider Menards or Lowes as my new first choice for home improvement.

horrible customer service. we've had nothing but issues trying to order tile for a bathroom remodel. first a package was lost (good thing I followed up) then they sent the wrong product and I was given a store credit to reorder at another counter .. (rolling my eyes here) went to go re order and was told they couldn't guarantee I'd get the right product run since it was marble, mind you the box stock photo,the display and the online photos do NOT match...And now I'm sitting here with a sizeable store credit that they won't reverse.
