This store is in the process of being closed but wanted to share a review of Best Buy in general. Total rip off. Go to Best Buy to look at what you think you want, write down or photo the item info and buy online. The entire reason brick and mortar businesses are declining is lack of knowledgeable sales people. I'll pay a bit more to be able to go in, be assisted in finding what I'm looking for and the sales person explains the features as well as comparisons. What I'm not willing to do is pay more to go into a store where the employees are talking amongst themselves, you have to be put on a waiting list to see one of the many employees doing nothing and wait 30 minutes for them to walk you around to where the items "should be". I can do that myself and save money buying online. Best Buy is like the Blockbuster of yesteryear. They have a corner on the market as a big box electronics store so don't care about customer service. They too will go out of business due to the changing market place, inability to staff with sales people vs kids and still charging a high price. The two stars are for being able to go in and look at what you think you want and then buy elsewhere.

Bought a Refrigerator and found damage on delivery. Best Buy would not replace it after many time's promising to replace it. Lies after lies even after contacted upper management at corporate. Very disappointed and will never do business with Best Buy again. Worst customer service

This store totally is why Amazon is doing so good. The assistant manager," young yuppie" had an attitude. Her customer service skill lacked 100%. I had called corporate customer service and spent a half hour explaining why I needed to return a unused computer. All I wanted was an exchange. I did not want money back. After spending time with corporate customer service and they sent 2 emails to the manager to call me which he never did so I went to the store. The girl assistant manager stood their and would not exchange the product nor would she help me out with some kind of discount towards another computer. She did not give a sh#t if I was happy or would even shop their again. Do yourself a favor and support other electronic places like ABT, Microcenter and Amazon. I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again.

I bought a dishwasher to replace my Maytag. Decided on a Samsung. Installers came. Opened the bottom took one look and said ...not going to fit, you cant use Samsung, LG, Bosch. I said is this unusual. They said no, "happens all the time. if you have an open bottom dishwasher you need another open bottom dishwasher. If you have Maytag, Kitchen Aid, GE then stick with those open bottom models. That's why we didnt even take it out of the truck. We'll take it back call tomorrow afternoon and the return should be in the system. After calling multiple times the next day i finally got advice to go to the shop around 3 as it should be in the system by then. Went to the store. Got the manager. suggested that his sales team ask some simple questions when they sell a dishwasher, like what model do you have now? Oh its Maytag, then be careful Samsung isnt open bottom and might not fit. Then after picking out a new machine i said. so i get credit for my old machine. yes the Manager took care of that. I said lets verify because this receipt says i just spent another $1000. Ohh your right he didnt do it. You'll get a refund in a couple of days. a week later i check my best buy account, no refund. i called up they said it looks like they hit the wrong buttons in the store. I give this store a 1 start but overall speaking to friends there is a general feel that Best Buy in general has gone downhill. You really need to research stuff yourself. I was buying security camera's from Arlo the other day. Bough a 3 camera set. do you have the hub sir. The web site says i dont need a hub. You need a hub sir. I said, i'll give it a shot without it. He then says do you have the mounting brackets. It comes with them i said. OK sir, if you want to waste your time that's fine with me. installed the cameras with the brackets that came in the box and connected them directly to my phone without a hub. What annoyed me more than the guy not knowing what he was talking about was how confident he was that he thought he knew what he was talking about. I always say, there's nothing worse than a confident idiot.

I would like to let the management in Best Buy in Algonquin know about the help I received from Habib Manzoor. This man knows his stuff. I was looking at various TVs. Mr. Manzoor explained the various levels showing me the quality difference in each. Mr. Manzoor also explained the Totaltech advantages. He sold me on his product knowledge. I purchased three Samsung TVs and the Totaltech package. Well done Mr. Manzoor.

Listen if there is someone that truly cares about the worst experience I have ever received at Best Buy in corporate level or this store... I have shopped at Best Buy for 25 plus years. Reach out to me..I am here to tell my story to those individuals only and not use social media as a tool to slam an employee, employees, store or corporation. Perhaps if we all tried it just a little different we might make a change.

After my most recent experience with Best Buy, I have no desire to return. We are remodeling our house and need a new fridge, stove, microwave, etc. We started first with a fridge we like, but the color we want would take more than a couple months to come back in stock and be delivered. We decided to go with the next best option, but after paying nearly $2k for a new fridge, the delivery person showed up on the scheduled day, but had a damaged open box item. The hoses for the water supply were (literally) cut meaning it would never be able to hook up without repair. Best Buy store in Algonquin doesn't take calls directly, everything goes through a 'national call center'; however, the people in that center are friendly but fairly useless in resolving problems. First the system needs additional time to update, then the person can't help and I get transferred from one department to another only to be given a reference number. I am no longer a customer, I'm now apparently a "case number". The company made a mistake , but it has now become my responsibility to work on resolving it. Giving a customer homework to fix your mistake isn't right. If Best Buy made the mistake, why can't they take responsibility and fix it. Why do customers have to keep jumping through hoops, waste time out of our days on hold and keep persisting to push forward so you can get a sale. As of right now, I have been sitting on hold for an hour and 10 minutes still waiting to speak with someone as the call back function doesn't seem to work. The website won't let me do anything, customer service keeps transferring me, no one has a solution except for one.......SHOP ELSEWHERE! I am tired of calling Best Buy day after day. With Amazon and other companies that will without question 9/10 times replace an item and move on without jumping through hoops, I have no desire to take anymore business to Best Buy. I plan to cancel my order and simply go elsewhere.

The hell with Best Buy !!! Misleading ads offering credits on old electronics !!! Verified with the corporate office , what the program was, got to the store and it all changed ! I hope they go under , they won't get my business anymore Asked about a $50 credit that was applied to my Best Buy account, when I opened a credit account. Asked about it today, the the guy said " don't know where it went", there is an expiration on those. Where did it say that when o opened the account ??? That's a store credit and should have no expiration time on it!!! This is bull s*** !!!

The store may be fine but the 2 represenitives of the mobile service area extremely sensitive to customers. It's like they don't want to wait on you and find any excuse not too. I wanted someone to help me with my connection to my computer with a hotspot. They said I raised my voice. One of them was annoyed by the first thing I said. Then I asked if he would show me how to connect he told me and I said please turn off the I pad and start over. He said I told you it was working. Then he said I was talking loud and by then I probably was. He and his partner refused to help me. I am 78 years old and if these young people are so sensitive they shouldn't be working with people. Also I didn't get all my equip back. Customer Service I sure like to see what bad customer service looks like. I was in the service industry and helped people no matter what was happening. These people need some taking in customer relations or get out of the I was in the service industry and helped people no matter what was happening. These people need some training in customer relations or get out of the business.

Turned into the worst store. I pre-ordered a ps4 game. After waiting a couple weeks I received a email saying it was in. Well it wasn't in. She said the emails are computer generated. So here I am 2 weeks later trying to call them and you cant. They won't pick up the phone. So basically I have to go to the store every so often to see if its in. Horrible Horrible customer service. Ill never give best buy my business again.

Long story short. Went to buy a printer cartridge. Their computer told me which one to buy. I wanted to make sure that I had the right one. A tech was there. Asked them to open the box, so I could see it. She said that she couldn't do that. She said I could open the box after I bought the cartridge. I bought the cartridge. Wrong one. I then said I wanted to return it. He told me they didn't take returns on cartridges. Called the tech over. She changes her story and says that corporate policy is that cartridges are considered consumables and can't be returned. Called the manager. To say he was arrogant is an understatement. He simply said corporate policy. I said that his tech had said the opposite. "Well, I guess that's on you" Whatever that is supposed to mean. We talked again, and again I got "Well, I guess that's on you. Over the years. I've probably spent over $10,000.00 at this Best Buy and the one they had in Sleepy Hollow/West Dundee. Don't EVER buy anything from this store. The "manager" should be fired.

I have never been treated so poorly by any retail store. I purchased a $2,000 laptop computer that had a defective camera. When I returned it to the Algonquin, IL Best Buy store, they agreed to replace the computer, but they wanted to charge me an additional $100 to transfer my data, and were going to require that I re-purchase the software I bought from them when I bought the computer. They sold me a defective computer, I loaded software and data into it, and then they were going to charge me to reload this information back, thus making more money off something that should be an even exchange. I have never heard of something so ridiculous. The manager was extremely rude, as well as the supervisor in the Geek Squad area. I would never buy a computer from this store, or anything else for that matter. They are a dishonest business.

I want to start the New Year off by saying a BIG HELLO to my Charlotte NC, and surrounding area NC Yelpers from Huntley IL!! (It is about an hour and a half outside the city of Chicago). My husband and I are here celebrating the holidays, and our birthdays with my family, and our friends. Within all of the celebration my husband decided that it was time that I got a new phone, mine was paid off, and well frankly it was driving me crazy, with intermittent hangups. The phone was not very old, as phones go, we are Apple people it was an 8+. Whether it was the phone or my service, who knows, and we had a rough year, much like everyone else in the world; a little retail therapy was in order. Walking into the Algonquin Best Buy, there is a sign that says "Please check in here." We waited for the employee to be finished with the person she was with and checked in. I feel the need to add, not everyone "checks in" like asked (this bothers me but I am just like that lol). We did not have to wait long, Sierra came up to us right away as we received a text notice, and were browsing the phone selections. Sierra was amazing, she was the most patient person I have met in retail! This is saying something, my husband is in the Car Company business, and I have worked many many years in retail before becoming disabled. The entire transaction took...Wait for it.... FOUR HOURS!!!!! This was due to the content on my husbands phone, the transfer of it was ridiculous at best! Yet Sierra remained pleasant, polite, conversational, and engaged the entire time! I wandered in and out, and was conversing with another employee at the door about North Carolina and what it is like there, his friend just moved to the state. I did not find one single rude employee in the store, maybe it was because it was just after Christmas, who knows, but this experience was amazing, and that team was stellar! Especially Sierra!

Will never shop at Best Buy again! After waiting almost 2 weeks for an order that kept saying they're waiting to fill. I was just informed that they cannot fulfill my order. Really Really you suck!!! You will never see me in one of your stores again!
