Disappointed, haven’t been to this Plato’s in a month or two. This store has gone down hill recently brought in a full duffle bag of clothes. Once I signed in we walked around the store as they were going through two big trash bags of clothes. We decided to leave and two minutes later get a text that our items were done and she told us they couldn’t take any of our items. I had Jordan 12 retros, Jordan 5 retros, Kate spade. and tons of good name brand guy clothes. This store has gone down hill tremendously. I love Plato’s closet but I can’t back up this location anymore ?

Came here in the hopes of acquiring some Lee Dungarees and Pipes, but left empty handed. Words cannot accurately express just how disappointed I am.

The manager needs to speak w the staff about proper customer service. As someone who manages, its unprofessional and sadly disappointing that the staff here gives unnecessary attitude. Came in to buy something and was just being nice to the girl helping me up front by asking how her day was and got completely ignored. Hire more people who actually want to work

This location is a total scam!!(GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE AND PAID)I've been to the Schaumburg location, which I liked, and the prices there are reasonable. Today, I decided to check out this location, and to my surprise, everything was extremely expensive, literally like buying new clothes. I even saw a Target t-shirt I own for $10, which proves this place is scamming people. That same t-shirt cost me less than what they are selling it for.I will say I did see a few t-shirts I liked and would have gotten, unfortunately, I won't be paying the price of a brand new shirt for something that is already used and worth less than $8.And to respond to their response; They are not the same prices, clearly who ever runs your location is greedy, immature and very unprofessional.

Do NOT come to this Plato's!!!!!! They are the most judgmental, inconsiderate little girls I have ever encountered. It felt like I was in high school again. I drove 40 min for this location to see if I would sell more. As soon as I walked in, I instantly felt them judging me. I gave them my bags and left. It took two hours. When I came back the bags looked like they hadn't even been touched. I had my clothing neatly folded and it was like that when I returned. What did they even do for the 2 hours???? They took absolutely nothing. I had two basically brand new Nike shorts that were clean with no stains or holes. I highly doubt they even went through my bags because those shorts were in perfect condition. The Schaumburg store is much friendlier and professional. I'm warning you, don't come here unless you want a bunch of little 16 year olds to ridicule you. To the owner, please find new employees who are more considerate, or at least train your current ones to be more respectful. I do not appreciate a bunch of high schoolers who don't even know me laughing at me behind my back as I try to look around. I understand working with the public isn't easy, but there is absolutely no excuse to judge people when you don't even know who they are.

I took 4 bags of clothes in and they only kept a handful of items and a pair of converse. I had plenty of jeans from Aeropostale, old navy, and target. They only gave me $34.00 when most of the jeans were $40-$60 each. Won’t be returning. Customer service not really friendly. The responses to reviews on google are a joke and very unprofessional. Gas money? ? the money was for the teen girl for her clothes , not my car. Just look at all the reviews or is everyone telling the same lie?

I usually really enjoy shopping at Plato's Closet; big finds for reasonable prices. But not here. When I came into the store, I was not greeted with a smile but a tone. The workers looked to be in high school of age and did not seem very friendly. They were sitting behind the counter talking to each other while sorting clothes and not helping customers at the counter right away. I donated some items and was told it would be about a 2-3 hour wait until I got an estimate back. I was NEVER told I had to come pick my money up right away. They texted me about an hour later, after I was already 30 minutes back home, and asked me to come in to receive my money for my donations. I explained that I was a college student and needed to come back when I return for break... they said it was "in the policy" that I had to pick up my money right away. They then decided to donate my items without paying me. Do not recommend this location to shop at or donate to.

I have gone to Plato’s closet in Algonquin numerous times to sell my clothes. All name brand Lululemon, princess polly, brandy Melville, etc. and every single time they don’t take anything. They explain it’s not in style but the clothes I bring them are close to new. I have talked with a bunch of people about that and they have agreed. They don’t take much clothes. They promote it all over social media but won’t accept people’s clothing. It’s a waste of time, so I advise anyone who is looking to sell there clothes to Plato’s, DONT. Look at other options like online where you will get better odds at selling it but also more money for your clothing.

The person scanning my clothes told me to write a positive review for a discount on my purchase. That is definitely unethical for a business to be doing that! It only incentivizes people to leave fake positive reviews like the latest ones you've seen. There's some cute clothes here and there, there's a lot of out of style clothes in their racks that no one wants to buy. The attitude of the employees is what makes this place a truly negative shopping experience. As soon as you walk in through those tiny doors, you are greeted with judgement from the employees, that it feels like their eyeballs are staring deep inside your soul. As much as I want to like this place, I can't give more money to a place that clearly buys fake positive reviews to compensate for their bad management at this store. I can't be bought like the other reviewers that gave you 5-stars, Platos closet.P.S: Please train the employees to be more professional. There was a lady who dropped her clothes off, and as soon as she walked out the door, the teenage workers started to talk about how oversized she is and why would she sell her oversized clothes at Platos closet.

Joe and Maya were so nice and helped me and my daughter so much and everyone was overall extremely friendly!
