If you have a limit on an item, then you should have a sign that says it clearly by the item. Especially since you expect us to check ourselves out.Pay more and go elsewhere, you'll have a much better to experience.

Do you ever wish you could get the best food for little money and little cook time? Well you’re in luck, because Aldi has a variety of food just for that! Aldi in Alton Il now has self checkouts and one checkout with a cashier. If you prefer to check out at your own pace and do things yourself use the self checkout, but if you want to check out fast and just get out of the store then go to the regular cash register. If you live in the Alton area you probably shop at all the stores such as Target and or the mall. Aldi is at such a perfect place that it’s close to every store in the area, making grocery runs and regular shopping runs able to be achieved in one day.Ever since I was little my mom has loved Aldi, although we didn’t go so often. She liked it so much because of how she could get what she wanted and fast while hauling around 3 little kids. As we started to go to Aldi more often the more we enjoyed just going there to get groceries knowing that we would be satisfied with the food. My family would go every chance we could. Around a year and a half ago I got braces and there was an Aldi right next door to my orthodontists office. I have appointments every six weeks so we buy groceries each time we go there. We even visit Alton for Aldi on just regular days too. It was making our food shopping trips way more efficient because we were getting multiple things done in a day. We used to mostly get our groceries just from Walmart but now we hate going there. If its even just a dinners worth of food we still go the extra way to get it from Aldi. Now lets talk about the checkouts. The self checkout makes it simple to get a small quantity of food items, and check out fast so that you dont have to wait in the long lines for the regular checkouts. The regular checkouts have fast cashiers that can check out the big quantity of food items you might be buying fast and quick. Overall both checkouts help the paying process faster. Next, Ill tell you about the foods. Aldi has a lot of good food for small prices. The food tastes good and theres a wide selection, so that everyone can find something for themselves that they will enjoy. You may be thinking, if theres a big selection of food the stores probably crowded. Well thats not the case. The stores actually not crowded at all and thats one of the main reasons that my family keeps going back. The employees put the food on the shelves so neatly and nice that it stays organized. I mentioned this before but I need to go more in depth. I love to shop for things I probably dont need and I hate shopping for things I do need. Therefore if I need to go to Alton to shop for groceries at Aldi then I can bribe myself into actual going by visiting stores such as Target, Bath and Body Works, Macys, Clares, ect.Aldi can be for almost anyone but its the best for new college students looking for easy food to make, or just families of any number. Aldi keeps delicious dinner items that will keep your family asking for it over and over again. But these foods are also very easy to cook. From my experience Ive found that the Aldi in Alton IL is more crowded during the day rather than later in the evening. (On behalf of A. Fanning)

Overall the shopping experience was good but the customer service deserves 0 stars. I waited in line I had no problem waiting a few other customers weren’t happy with the wait but I didn’t mind I needed cash back and you can’t get cash back at self check. The entire time I waited in line the cashier yelled to use the self check out if paying with card, over and over. By the time I got to the register I started to apologize I was using my card but needed cash back and she cut me off and yelled over me about the cards and self check out once again. She started to push my cart away with my baby in it and didn’t give me cash back until I said I needed 20 back and she had already closed the register and started on with the next customers items.way to ahead of herself and rude.

I’m so upset that they have now made our Aldi store 99% self checkout. This is horrible for older people. Shame on you Aldi!!

Great selection of fresh produce, with amazingly low prices. The ALDI brand of everything are good at low prices, and there are also a lot of name brand items at lower prices than the high-priced grocery stores. The store is very clean.
