DIVORCE/BUYER BUYOUT BEWARE: I bought a house through Carolton Bank, which was a fabulous experience initially. Then came time for my divorce and my ex-husband buying me out.
Carolton Bank completely forgot that I was already THEIR faithful Customer and completely ostracized me. They refused to give me any information at all about MY house. They were focused on the fact that they could not share personal information about my ex-husband, which is not what I was asking for in anyway shape or form.
I wanted to know a timeline as to when I needed to start packing, I wanted to know details about possible payouts, including escrow and basic information on what to expect in general...
Then the grand finale, they tried to tell me that I was only going to walk away with $6000! I actually had to do my own calculations and respond to that ridiculous email with those calculations, which was then met with “you are correct”! I walked away with what I calculated and I am just thankful that I know how to count since the vice president obviously does not.
I dealt with Katie Ottwell. Anyone else that is getting ready to go through a similar situation just be prepared. Horrible experience!

Horrible company. They only care about money but not the members. I would give zero stars if I could. Filed BBB complaint and ethics complaint.

I work for Allstate and just needed help with a mutual client. Emily was able to help and she did it so fast and solved the problem for me within 10 minutes. She was very polite. Carrollton Bank makes it so easy to work with. Amazing customer service! Thank you!

We used Carrolton Bank for our mortgage and was fortunate to work with Jennifer Sawyer and Tracy Malmstead. Both were not only very knowledgeable (and patient) but personable. They went above and beyond for us and would absolutely recommend them for all banking needs.

Recent left our long-term, formerly local bank and moved all my accounts to Carrollton. I could not be any happier! The attention to detail and friendliness is excellent. They lean towards yes and their default is a can-do attitude. See ya Busey Bank!

Crystal and Scott are great to work with! This bank reminds of the old school handshake bank, they have more flexibility and options than your typical creditUnion. I bank with 1st mid America right down theRoad but Carrollton has all my auto loans. I’mGoing to eventually transfer everything over. Thanks Carrollton y’all are awesome to work with.

My experience has been similar to others. I've been a business owner for 20 years and have worked with a number of banks and credit unions of varying sizes across Illinois and Missouri. Carrollton is, without a doubt, the worst of them. In fact, I've been mostly happy with other banks I've used, especially The Bank of Edwardsville (now Busey).Most of my bad experiences at Carrollton had to do with Misty Cobbel, who is especially rude and condescending and also unprofessional in her complete lack of follow-through. I don't say this based on only one or two experiences with her, either.This bank seems to also lack quality training and/or systems for its tellers on the phone and in person, as they tell you incorrect things on the phone or don't follow through, don't run the transactions through at the time they state on their receipts (making them post after close of business and then charging you fees). They also once deposited nearly $10,000 in our account and took it out at the end of the day... out of nowhere. It's one mistake after another and they have very little willingness to believe you, care about your experience, or do anything to correct issues.In summation, you would do well to choose ANY other bank to work with.
