Guitar Center in Arlington Heights offers a wide selection of musical gear, including amps, drums, keyboards, recording equipment, DJ gear, and lighting from top brands like Fender and Gibson. Customers appreciate the friendly staff and the ability to see and try instruments in person, though some find the service slow, likely due to staffing issues. The store is often used for purchasing used gear or inspecting items before buying online from other sites owned by the company. While the store has a good variety of equipment, some guitars and instruments are not always set up well, with high action making them difficult to play. Customers have noted that trying out instruments can be challenging, as there are sometimes no places to plug in and test electric basses or guitars easily. Trade-ins are generally considered to be offered at lower prices, but this is seen as a trade-off for convenience. Staff members are often helpful and willing to go the extra mile, as exemplified by an employee who helped find new speakers when the in-stock options were not suitable. Despite some operational issues, many customers value the store for its selection and the ability to see and try instruments before purchase. Overall, Guitar Center Arlington Heights is a popular spot for musicians seeking a broad range of gear, though improvements in setup and customer service could enhance the experience.
