Bad communication between shop and insurance. The app was showing my car was in repair when actually it was pushed to the side. I had personally went to the shop, then called to find out what was going on. The shop said they were waiting on the insurance, and my insurance said they were waiting on the shop. At the end, the shop had forgotten to send the second estimate of the cost of the car. At the end, after more than two months, my cars was a total lost.On the past, this shop had done a way better job communicating with the customer. This time it was really bad.Is very unpleasant to be in the middle of two business doing their job, to get to communicate with each other! Is horrible to make a call to the insurance and find the proper person on the phone and then had to make them call the shop to find out that a single paper wasn't sent, after weeks of dropping the car.

Please never take your vehicle to this shop. Nor to any Gerber collision anywhere. Not a trust worthy shop and not a trust worthy company.

Top shelf all the way! Mitchell and Susie explained entire process. Seamless flow between Farmers , Gerber and Enterprise and my car was ready two weeks early! I’mBlown away ! Thank you so much !

Terrible service. Used this location for years with multiple situations. They used to be run really well, but the staff turnaround is insane and they can't seem to get it together. I recommend finder somewhere else. I know I will.

Huge thank you to Eduardo for the thorough exam for my car. I went to a different gerber location previously and they did not put the time or effort into looking into every small detail after my accident. Eduardo took his time, very detail-oriented, and great at communicating the next steps to get my vehicle repaired. He was even so kind to tape my bumper that was falling to the ground due to my accident until i’m able to make an appointment to get it fixed.

Beyond helpful and friendly staff. Everyone I have met there has been very kind and understanding. They're always super busy there, but they do tremendous work and treat everyone with respect. Couldn't be happier with the final result on my car.The only issue I had was the old fashion payment methods. Really put me in a bind when I couldn't use my preferred payment methods. I blame corporate for dropping the ball on that and not supporting their staff with more modern equipment.All in all, though I had a great experience at this location.Services: Painting

This was the worst experience I have ever had as a customer. Lie after lie. Went from 2 weeks to 40 days! They lost my key. Everything that could possibly go wrong did! I have never ran out of a place faster in my life!! SO MANY LIES and I called them out on many of them and they had no answer because they were not on the same page as each other when they lie. NEVER AGAIN!!!! Do not use them ever when referred by insurance!!! AwfulServices: Body & Trim

My car was hit from behind. Gerber repaired it. When I got it back, I noticed some grease on the driver's door handle. McKinley had me bring it back in and cleaned the whole car. He also told me to come back in the spring gir a more thorough cleaning. All of the people there were very nice. I liked that they updated me weekly. I would recommend the Gerber on Lake Street in Aurora.

Susie and McKinley were such a great help and extremely friendly during the entire process! My car was done by a different Gerber location after I was rear ended back in August. I had dropped off my car before I went on vacation as the rear window of my trunk completely shattered after I closed my DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR! I was completely shocked. When I brought it in, I notified them of my 2 week out of country absence and was told by another manager that it would be done in time. However, after my 2 week vacation, I called and was told by McKinley that it hadn't been completed yet and it was his first day and he was getting caught up. What happened in those 2 weeks with my car I am not sure, but I believe work was not being done as I was told it would be. I called daily or every other day for updates which can be annoying, I know, but Susie and McKinley always maintained such a positive attitude towards me and were always so friendly and very helpful. Just after THREE DAYS of communicating with McKinley, my window was completed and it looked great! For only being at this shop for 3 days, McKinley absolutely killed it and got stuff done! I'm so very grateful for them making this stressful experience easy and smooth.

I brought my car here for repairs after I was involved in a hit and run accident and it was stolen from their parking lot The staff would also give me contradicting information every time they would call me or I would reach out for updates on my vehicles repair. I called them October 27th for an update on my vehicle and they told me that it would be ready the next day. The next day I received a call asking if I picked up my vehicle or authorized someone to pick up my vehicle because it was missing from their lot. I did not. Do not take your car here if you do not want to risk it being stolen.Service: Body & Trim

I have used gerber collision for every body work on any of my cars. I have gone several times to the gerber collision in Lake St, Aurora and both times everything went well. They would call me if there was any issues be of parts, insurance, etc. This time I had a claim in June 2022. Took the vehicle in and gerber took all the pictures and information. They had my insurance information too and told me they had everything they needed. I left waiting for them to call me so I could take the vehicle for repairs. After a month and no contact from gerber I called and they informed me my insurance cancelled. I called my insurance and they informed me they never received any information from Gerber. I used the app of my insurance and took the pictures myself and all the information. I received a claim number and even a check for the estimate. I arrived on 20 September the sunniest Gerber could take my car. I go in to be told my insurance claimed was still showing cancelled in their system. I showed them all the paperwork with the claim number and still they wouldn’t take it. My insurance told me the claim is good and still open. Now here I sit in the shop waiting for my insurance to contact you and get this squared away. I’m extremely upset due to the lack of communication. When I made the appointment if I was told the claim was showing cancelled I had three weeks to get it straightened out instead of me sitting down waiting for this to be handle. Hopefully this won’t hurt me and I have to wait longer than I have to for the repairs.Service: Body & Trim

We have used Gerber for several years. Things appears to have gone down hill-perhaps related to lack of parts & staff. Even so, they could still communicate with the customer! The estimator never called us to say what the initial finds were on the car. We had to call them to say, Hey, how's the car?? WE have requested multiple times to provide an update with the status of repair with no one returning our calls! Recently asked for an email, detailing parts needed-no email either! Communication is key people! Customers are more understanding if you left us know the status.Service: Body & Trim

The worst service I ever had from the front desk to the actual work done from the shop, but I really have to make a point about the girl at the front desk, very rude not helpful at all and when you ask a simple question like an estimated time frame for the work , she could say yea don't know but instead she points at a letter on her desk and mumbles How would I know and says here read that on a very rude and condescending tone of voice, it seems like she f you are disrupting he world and you offending her just with your presence, she might be better off working from home because she lacks of people skills.
