The lost art of customer service......sarcasm is back. I recently made a purchase and declined to give my phone number. I was informed that without my phone number I could not return the items I purchased. I wanted to make sure I clearly understood what J**** said and was told, with an attitude, that without my phone number I could not return my items. I informed J**** that I would not be returning and she sarcastically said, "they all come back." I called and spoke to the assistant sales manager, typical manager avoidance, did apology for J**** lack of customer service skills. But emphasized cooperate policy requiring phone number for returns. My question is what's the purpose of having the receipt? I told the assistant manager I would be following up with their cooperate office regarding this matter, he did offer cooperate office phone number. So.........without your phone number, personal information, you cannot return anything to Harbor Freight Tools. Lost a customer and will be informing family and friends of this intrusive policy.

I tried to return a couple nail guns awhile back and they wouldn't return them even though one was never opened and the other was opened but not used. The girl at the register basically said she wouldn't return them because she believes they were stolen. My dad purchased them and I didn't have the receipt, don't accuse Your customers of stealing with no proof. Beware of the rude girl with red hair. Save yourself the hassle and go to the one on rt 59, much better customer service there.

Manger is jerk. He refused to take item back after one week. He told me to return it to the same store I got it from. I had to drive another half an hour to go to the other store and had no problem take it back. Worest manager ever.

Beware of poor store management: they are more worried about store/internal company issues on return policy than customer service. Receipt stated 90 days return policy, manager insisted item was supposed to be final sale (car refrigerant). Nobody advised me of it being a final sale at the time of purchase nor the receipt had any such notice. He asked me to call the 1800 number hoping they could help me. I called and they told me it was returnable, I had them talk to the manager who insisted on opening a ticket and said he would call me back once he heard back, as he was concerned about his store performance. I asked for these issues to be resolved between him/his store and the company given that they said it was returnable. He mentioned they had other items that were supposed to be final sale and the receipts did not reflect it (mine stated 90 days return). I pointed out this was a totally internal issue, he repeated to me and the customer service that his system showed no manufacturer warranty for the item which meant in his view it was not returnable. The customer service representative suggested I could try returning it at another store, that is what I did and they processed it with no problem! Items like car refrigerant never have a warranty, but if unopened they are returnable. Of course management has discretion. I would avoid this store.

Went in today to buy a jack. Amy the Supervisor that was working did not want to apply my coupon and said I could go to another HFT to get it done. Never coming here again.

Store refused to honor 15 percent coupon because I did not want to give them my phone number. Not a store policy, unfortunately they would rather sell warranties, your information, and club promotions. Will not go back to this store.
