I work for a nonprofit organization and we have an older Keyscan access control system that almost no one was willing to service. Finding Umbrella Security Systems has truly been a lifesaver for us.
Their technician Zach has been out to our site several times and he is outstanding. He’s extremely knowledgeable, honest, and fast — most issues are diagnosed and fixed in under 30 minutes. He could easily have charged us more for some of the problems we’ve had, but instead he’s always upfront and fair.
Even when I’ve reached out at the last minute with a potential emergency, their scheduling team has always found a way to fit us in. The level of honesty, responsiveness, and professionalism from Zach and the whole Umbrella team has been excellent.

I hired Umbrella Security to upgrade and replace the door access system and to upgrade our camera surveillance system for my Joliet law firm. They were great! Our new security system is both high-tech (fob badges, RFID mobile phone access, keypad access) and user-friendly. The company's president, Thomas, understands the needs of small business owners and what is important to them. His employee Zach, who did the work on site, was thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. I recommend Umbrella to other businesses in the area who need to install, upgrade, or replace their security systems!

I had an electronic access control system installed at my office in April 2025. Zach showed up right on time, verified all the hardware, then quickly and cleanly modified the door frame, installed the lock, in/out readers, and a door‑position sensor. He wired everything back to the controller, ran a full system test, and walked me through how it all works. The installation was flawless, the system is performing perfectly, and Zach was professional, efficient, and detail‑oriented the entire time. Highly recommend!

I'm president of a condo association and we utilized Umbrella Tech to upgrade three of our of systems: door entry, garage door and video surveillance. We are extremely happy with our upgraded systems installed by Umbrella Tech. The entire process of working with Umbrella Tech from start to finish was great. Before the signing of the contract, Thomas promptly answered all of our questions and explained how the systems would work. Hugo and Zach installed the systems and they were great to work with. They also provided the training on the new systems and were extremely patient with the people who got trained. Our upgraded systems were certainly worth the cost and the technology is amazing. For example, now when a key fob is lost, it is simply deactivated from the system by me. The worry that someone unknown has access to the building is no longer a worry. In addition, the system tells me which key fob was used to enter the building and when. I would highly recommend Umbrella Tech if an association or company is looking to install an entry system or a video surveillance system.
