It's unfortunate that the more informative 15th floor is now closed and my 10 year old son can no longer see parts of the accelerator nor read about what it does. This stopped after Covid and after Fermilab was sold to the federal government or DOE. However, we went on a day where it wasn't crowded and most employees were gone. A very nice physicist took time to explain to my son and I what experiments are being conducted and what future plans are being made. It was this one man that gave it 4 stars. We forgot his name, but hopefully he'll read this and we thank yoy.

NO REAL ID OR PASSPORT NO ENTRANCE! Very aggravating. IL license without the star is NOT accepted. You can vote without any ID in Illinois i believe but you cannot see this place without a REAL ID or Passport. Very aggravating to say the least. I can fly via O'Hara with no issues but can't see this place.

Off to see Bison on the grounds.
Remember, real ID's or US Passport to enter.
Lab visiting in main building is cool too to see accelerator ring and linear from up high.

Awesome facility! I visited when I was on a tour for school. The whole place is huge and they showed us around to tell us about what they do there. They smash particles into one another in order to test the physics of high energy physics. Kinda far from Chicago
