This H&R Location is a joke. I just moved here from Florida 2 weeks ago. For some reason, the guy named Cody who was helping me file thought I told him I lived in Illinois last year. When clearly my W-2 is from a company in Florida. He had the manager look at over my taxes. She mentioned that I had state taxes taken out. I told her that I had just moved from Florida 2 weeks ago. The guy Cody chimed is saying that I stated I lived in Illinois. Please tell me why these two were convinced at the time that I was lying. Mentioning that they didn't feel comfortable filling my taxes. When clearly my W-2 is from Florida. Documentations are better than conversations. The guy Cody must be new. I had to tell him a few times to hit the tab button because he was writing information in the wrong spots. I didn't feel comfortable at all giving him my information.

Had a tax appointment scheduled. our tac specialist was 50 minutes late for our scheduled appointment. Then she missed 4 of the documents we provided her, totaling over $40,000 of taxable income. We decided to be honest, and when we pointed out her mistakes, our tax return dropped over $5,000. She couldn't answer any of our tax questions. Her answer was, "I type the numbers in and the system calculates it." Pretty disappointed in the service. Wanted to get it done by a professional for convenience and to feel safe, but honestly, I felt safer doing it myself using TurboTax.
