I rented two units from the Belleville, IL location for over a year and aside from the quarterly price increase I had a very pleasant experience. Michele was extremely helpful with my move out process. Her kindness and professionalism was a breath of fresh air.

This place is way, way too expensive!! They raised our rent every 3 to 6 months straight for the past 2 years!! Do not fall for the cheap first month ploy.

Great experience at Extra Space Storage. 1st time renters of storage space and was feeling apprehensive until the moment we met Michele and Tyra at Extra Space Storage at their Belleville, IL site. Michele and Tyra answered all our questions; explaining everything and helped us get signed up for our storage unit. Outstanding experience and left feeling very satisfied that we decided to use Extra Space Storage for our storage needs.

This is our second time moving away from the area and both times we've used extra space storage (climate controlled) as we prepare our house to sell. This time they're a little further away, and we had other options, but we chose to use extra space again. Their facility is always clean, never any gate issues, staff is fantastic.
We've had to upgrade the size of our storage twice now, and they have been extremely helpful. Kathleen ran into some system issues, and was able to quickly find a solution. She was super kind and pleasant to hold a conversation with.
6 years apart in using their services and they're just as fantastic as they were then. Highly recommend.

Not a fan. When I moved in I wondered why they had so many red locks locking people out of their own stuff until I got the rate increase myself. Then it all made sense. I knew when I signed up that it was a “promotional rate” I got a 10x20 after one month it went from $171 to $181 when it hit three months they tried to raise it to $260 I called and complained so they said the best they could do was $222. It’s also marketed as temperature control; which maybe some are in a building, it seems, but all the big units are not. I was definitely being charged temp control but not getting it. With the major price increase I myself, single mother, had to rent another U-Haul and move all of my stuff to a cheaper (and better) company. Not happy.
