Lack of proper management, drastically understaffed, multiple maintenance issues. Look for this to shut down

Shaun took really good care of my aunt. It's very hard to find a good place that treats everyone like family. The entire staff has been great and easy to work with. This was a big decision to make so I have to make sure it was the perfect fit. I highly recommend the Atrium of Belleville.

I do not recommend The Atrium of Belleville whatsoever. My dad has been living there for almost two years. It is constant drama and a revolving door of employees. My dad was verbally attacked and bullied by four employees after he reported them for taking medication from his room and after two of them unlocked his door and entered without permission on two separate occasions. I requested multiple times to see footage of this incident to see if my dad is safe staying there and have been flat out ignored by management. The director herself said that there are numerous complaints of theft, yet all employees involved are still working there to this day. My dad's room hasn't been cleaned in a month because the male housekeeper has verbally attacked my dad on two occasions now. Management's solution is that the employees and my dad just don't have communication... A few months ago a server was scamming my dad into thinking she wanted to be in a relationship with my dad. When I complained to management they basically blamed my dad. I don't know any other assisted living facility where this kind of stuff would be allowed to be happening. There are complaints all over online about the horrible food quality. Elevator is broken multiple times a year. Kitchen closes constantly for this reason or that. Horrible communication between residents and kitchen closings (I've personally brought food to hungry residents who didn't know kitchen was closing). I don't see them offering activities for residents..they used to do a lot more. They advertise for services, but only are available for a select few (manicures for example). Honestly, the place is depressing...Update: Everything written here is fact. I have screenshots and emails to back it all up.Also would like it to be know that my dad was being exploited by multiple employees at this facility and was ultimately evicted after I wrote this review for "giving gifts" to those employees.

We had looked at so many places for my parents to move into and we knew instantly that The Atrium was the place. Shaun showed us around and was very friendly, kind and helped us every step of the way. He made a very thoughtful and heartwarming "Welcome" basket for our parents. He has answered all of our questions and has made all of us feel welcomed. Barbara has been wonderful with helping my parents. The whole staff has been very helpful and so nice. I would recommend The Atrium to anyone who is looking for a senior living community for their loved ones. It can be a hard process but everyone there tries to help your family in any possible way.

A senior community with friendly residents and a caring staff. The staff keeps residents entertained with numerous activities, events, and tours. The cuisine in the dining room is delisious and plentiful. The Atrium atmosphere is a feeling of home. Visit the Atrium at your first opportunity. You won't regret it. See you soon.

My mother lives at the Atrium of Belleville. She has a nice apartment, in a safe environment, and the personnel are compassionate and competent. The common areas are attractive and clean. She likes the Atrium, and I like it very much. also. The only criticism I can offer is that the dining room was serving much better food and more varied food when she moved in three years ago. The kitchen staff evidently has a high turnover rate, so I would like to see the food and options returned to their previous level of excellence. She is not as happy with the food as she once was. However, generally this is a very nice assisted living facility.

My mother moved into the Atrium this year. We've been pleased by the experience she's had so far. The staff are friendly and make an effort to know each of the residents. They've worked closely with my mom and our family to assist with mom's transition. The size of the Atrium is small enough that the residents and staff know each other which helps to build community. We've already recommended the Atrium to our friends and family.

I can't say enough positive things about the Atrium. My dad has been there since April and it was the best move ever. Everyone is so nice there! Barbara is the director and she is great! The sales director, Shaun, is super nice and helpful. You can tell that he truly cares about all the residents. Even now I can message him with questions and he responds quickly. I love that meals are included in the price and my dad loves that he can order breakfast anytime of the day! Normally they have musical guests at least once a week and they do other fun things like Bingo, happy hour, etc. The atrium has their own van so normally once a week they go out to eat or go on shopping trips. There are so many other perks like laundry service (small fee), free housekeeping once a week, exercise classes, bible studies, etc. Oh and my dad has an emergency button around his neck and he can press it anytime if he needs help with anything. They're also additional services you can add on like medication reminders assistance with getting dressed stuff like that. Thankfully for now my dad does not need those services but it's nice to know we have that option in the future. The atrium itself is so beautiful.. you really need to see it in person!

My mother moved into The Atrium in July 2021 and I can't say enough about what a wonderful experience it has been. Every member of the staff is friendly and very accommodating to the residents. Anytime a situation arises it is handled promptly and efficiently by the staff. Every resident is given an emergency alert pendant to wear when they move in which is very comforting to my mother as well as to our family. My mother has had some resent health issues and they have all gone out of their way to make sure she is taken care of and gets what she needs! They truly care about the residents which gives me such great peace of mind. The director Barbara Foley's door is always open to discuss anything that arises and Shaun Spencer the Director of Sales and Marketing has made my mother feel like family and at home from the day we toured the facility. They have daily activities for the residents and plan outings for them weekly. They also have live entertainment a couple times a month which has been a big hit with my mother. We definitely chose the right community for my mother to live and thrive in when we picked The Atrium of Belleville.

We share a lot of laughter and comfort one another when necessary here! The Atrium of Belleville is safe and does everything in their power to meet all of the residents needs. If you are thinking independent living give us a chance and be sure to join in all the fun things we do here. I thank God every day that I am here and not home alone!

Brenda the housekeeper here at The Atrium of Belleville is so great at keeping my apartment so clean and nice. She has become a good friend of mine here and the number grows as I continue to live here. Very thankful and blessed to call this place home. Thank you for all that you do!

Ericka has just been amazing with helping me get my dad and step mom set up here. Answering any question I may have and in a very timely manner. This place smells amazing with all the fresh cookies, popcorn and whatever maybe on the menu for the day.My parents are from out of state and they have been very patient with the time zone difference and working with my schedule at work. I want to live here

My Grandfather recently passed away after having spent his final years at the Atrium. My family could not be more grateful to the staff and the management team that is there now. We had become concerned early on in the year with COVID and some other things. But then came in the new Executive Director - Roberto. He is the definition of grabbing the bull by the horns. he has put together a great managemt team, they all truly care. I cant say enough about how much we love the care staff they are wonderful. My husband had a grandparent in another community and he tells me all the time that he wishes that his grandma could have lived at the Atrium instead. Don't waste time looking at all the shiny pretty new buildings you are just a number to them. The Atrium is a family.
