I DO NOT recommend talking to the bank teller Tamara Betts. She was so unhelpful and very racist. I had to get access to my savings account from my grandma who had just passed away recently. She told me that I needed a birth certificate to show proof of citizenship. Please keep in mind, I am a minority. I had called a different UMB location (the headquarters in KS City, MO) and all they told me I needed was a valid ID and a letter requesting access. Tamara had 0 sympathy and was very eager to close my account that she deemed as “inactive” with $0 in it. We know for a fact that there was money in it, but she was like we can close it on Monday!!! This issue took over an hour and minimum of 3 visits.
Came back a different day and Krista was very helpful. Was able to take care of us in less than 20 minutes.
Do NOT recommend talking to Tamara unless you want an unhelpful, unknowledgeable, and incredibly RACIST teller.

UMB always quick to notify of suspicious activity.

I sat and waited about 15 minutes while three, yes three other tellers serviced one other customer, while I was told just a minute, and one moment please. Not the best service I've ever received.

Bank teller came to my rescue on the UMB parking lot, when my cape became caught in my car door, jamming the lock, making it inoperable. I had to remove cape, leaving it "hanging" outside the car; go inside the facility, handle my transaction, after which, teller came out, and resolved the issue -- by him pushing on the door from the outside and having me pull the handle from the inside and then pushing out. I was on my way to an important event, and he "saved the day"! I got there on time. Above and beyond the call of duty.
