Memorial Park District is a beautiful and expansive park that offers a variety of amenities for visitors. The highlight is the awesome splash pad, which is a hit with children, including a 5-year-old who loves it. The park also boasts huge grounds, restrooms, and a gazebo, making it a perfect place to spend a hot day. Although there is no water fountain for the kids, the park is otherwise described as a "perfect place" to take the family, and it's free to enjoy. The splash pad used to cost $2 to use but is now free. It's open from noon to 7 pm, weather permitting. Stevenson Park in Bellwood also offers a free 1-hour workout for seniors on Mondays and Thursdays at 7:30 am, which is reported to be a "blast" with a lot of sweating. The Stevenson Center is a nice and clean facility, but it closes too early on Fridays and is not open on Sundays. Overall, Memorial Park District is described as a nice and clean place to bring the whole family, including pets, to enjoy nature and have a great time.
