**THEY CLOSE AT 9:00 P.M. AS OF MAY 2024**
They surprisingly have a great selection of items.... Might be a little messy... But worth the time to dig through. In the 4 years that I have been coming to this location every employee has been very helpful and friendly and overall great neighborhood store

Bought what I thought was just a glasses case but apparently it was glasses and a case. The cashier didn’t say anything about that until I came back the next day to return them and wouldn’t let me because “there were supposed to be glasses attached” even though she rang me up the other day. Very rude about the situation, too.

On September 16, 2023 at 10:41 am, I was shopping in this Dollar General for a few items. Around 11:20 am or so I walked up to the register to checkout. There was no one there. I rang the bell and even yelled out for someone and there was no answer. Another customer was trying to enter the store but she couldn't get in, the doors wouldn't open. That is when I realized that I had been locked up inside the store and the alarm was going off but it wasn't a very loud alarm. The police came to the entry door of store. I was questioned whether I was a customer or an employee. I stated a customer and that I was locked up the store. They asked me open the door from the inside and I did, they checked my ID and let me go. Two days later I talked to a district manager and she offered me a $20 gift card. I turned it down. This what they think of their customers. I will not be patronizing their store ever again. I haven't heard anything from them since. Silence speaks volumes!

Always helpful staff at the Berkeley store today 9/19/2023 I went into the store I got in my car . The cashier come running out to the car. I left my bag of merchandise she didn't have to do that but she did in the rain thank you young lady that was at work behind the cash register at 1:00pm 9/19/2023.
