Cermak Plaza Shopping Center is a popular shopping destination for the near west suburbs, located at the southeast corner of Harlem Avenue and Cermak Road. It offers a wide variety of stores, food options, and entertainment, making it a convenient place for one-stop shopping. Visitors can find groceries at Tony’s, pet grooming at Pet Supplies Plus, and enjoy services like mani-pedis at Queen Nails. The shopping center also features stores such as Shoe Carnival, Dollar Tree, Ross, Walgreens, and an office store that serves small business needs. Many shoppers appreciate the availability of everyday essentials and affordable clothing and shoes, with some frequently purchasing wireless headphones and other items.
The center is well-known for its appearance in movies like Wayne’s World and Wanted, adding a touch of fame to its reputation. However, parking can be challenging, with some reviews describing the lot as poorly designed and chaotic, often leading to aggressive driving and confusion. Pedestrian safety is also a concern, as drivers tend to drive recklessly through the lot and the main crossing can be unsafe.
Despite parking and safety issues, Cermak Plaza remains a favorite for its variety of stores and services. Some stores may be understaffed, leading to longer wait times, but the overall shopping experience offers good deals, friendly staff at chain restaurants, and occasional performances in front of Tony’s. The shopping center continues to be a convenient and lively place for shopping and entertainment in the area.
