this locations customer service is the absolute worst…

Today's date is June 9th 2024. I needed some items for my house hold and puppy. I used the check out line and needed an authorization code from a clerk. I waited my turn after she cheerfully help the couple next to me. She was awear that I needed help, instead she walked away, left me standing there over 5 minutes, I went to her very polite and ask was she was the only one working in the store, with an unwilling attitude she finally came over. She then asked me did I pay for all my items that were in my basket and I asked her if she would like for me to take each item out match it up with my receipt to prove to her I wasn't stealing. I was very stereo typed because the color of my skin. Black African female American. Then she followed me to the door to watch me put my items in the car as if I was going to steal her cart. This was the most humiliating thing that ever happened to me in bethoto. I will be looking into this on a legal point of veiw. So if you are of a different race be careful going into the bethoto dollar general, you will be stero typed and profiled.

If you are using the self checkout please beware: purchased over $30 in items and forgot in the bottom of my cart (in the store). I realized my mistake less than 20 min after I left the store and immediately called. The manager told me they weren’t responsible for self checkout items and I would have to call back the next day. Went in the next day and Ralph the general manager told me there was nothing he could do. There are camera’s everywhere; on the self checkout, by the door, etc. if I were to try to steal something they’d definitely notice and try to stop me. But since I forgot my items (something I’m sure happens a lot) they are refusing to assist. This is awful customer service, I PAID for the items and they did not leave the store! All I’m asking is for them to allow me to pick up what I paid for. Do the right thing here DG!!

This store has gotten better since it became the DG Market and they put in self check out lanes and its not as cluttered as some of the other Dollar General stores. Its great for stopping to grab 1 or 2 things when you don't have the time to go to walmart or target.

The story of Dollar General in the last three years is out-of-stocks. You just can't go there with a shopping list like you would at Target.... I was just there with a 7 item list, all things Dollar General carries and I've purchased before.FIVE of the 7 were out-of-stock. I decided not to purchase anything, because there were 6 people in line and only ONE cashier, and since I was going to have to go elsewhere anyhow, why wait in line for 20 minutes for just 2 things?This is the third time this year I was forced to turn around and leave empty-handed.Womp-woooooooomp, Dollar General.
