“I have a Bluey loving 4 year old. There is an episode about chess so she became obsessed with learning. I have wanted to come to this store for a while, so the Bluey episode seemed to be perfect motivation to do so. When I walked in, I saw beautiful statement chess boards and fun and quirky boards and some simple elegant boards. We were able to find the perfect chess board for a 4 year old (yes it exists; magnets to hold it to the board and a foldable board game for storage). There is also a book for learning chess and a meetup once a week so she can practice (or I can so we can learn together!). I loved our visit here and recommend it for anyone looking for a chess board or to improve their game.”
“A big shout out to Bill from Lombard Hobbies. He converted my DC Atlas Trainman® Plus NRE Genset II Locomotive to DCC. Awesome shop with awesome people. Thank you once again Bill for your help.”
“In a world where bookstores have all but disappeared due to the digital age and competition, it is nice to see Barnes and Noble is still thriving. This location is a nice entrance into Oakbrook Mall. This location has 2 stories with a Starbucks located on the second level.”
“I've been coming here for almost a decade. Originally as a board game collector but more recently as a Warhammer player. Excellent store for many different kinds of games and the staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Also a great spot for Magic the Gathering and other card games.
My go to gaming store for a long time!”
“Always a joy to visit and shop with. They have the best prices and varieties of collectibles especially funko pops. Love the staff as well. We always leave happy even if we dont buy anything. We will continue visiting for as long as they are opened. All the way from Wisconsin.”
“The best Lego Store in the area! The staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about products. The atmosphere is always lively and open to families and adult Lego fans alike. If you are a Lego fan visiting the Chicago area, I highly recommend visiting this store.”
“Nice store for all kinds of kids stuff in Lombard. Lots of Dr. Who and marvel figures and toys. Prices were decent. Not many customers even on a weekend.Staff were helpful to look and suggest items.”
“Had a great experience in the activity area. We were at loose ends at the end of the day and the play area was too loud and busy for them. We just went to check out the toy store and found the activity area and kept them busy and happy till the mall closed. They were so excited to see a live axolotl and watch the snake being fed. The owner helped my youngest figure out the marble run and oldest had great time with nerf launcher and Turning Toy. If you are looking for a good place to keep bored kids occupied that's not the screaming madhouse the mall player was is, I would highly recommend.”
“First time in the Chicago area and long time collector of Charlie Bears and Jellycat. Upon a recommendation from a friend, I headed to Fairy Tales Inc. What a beautiful shop. Wonderful selection and the store associates are kind, helpful and patient. Very highly recommend checking this quaint store in Lombard.”
“Excellent selection of trains, accessories, track, and even toys for the kids. Train service and support was excellent and the guys are helpful and knowledgeable all around. I am a kid again. Thank you. Ceiling layout is complete, just 1 more tweak remains.”
“I remember visiting this store a few years back and I got so caught up in all the Xena Warrior Princess figures. The guy who works there gave me one for cheap! He was super nice! Until this day, I've been wanting to open it and display her, but I don't want to ruin the box? ...I love Xena the Warrior Princess lol”
“Great little shop off the beaten path that is loaded to the ceiling with fun and memories. You'll have to make several passes through the store to take it all in- but that's half the fun. The owner Aaron is very knowledgeable and is always open to trades or combination deals. To top it off he also sells vinyl, too, and has a pretty respectable selection to flip through. I have been a customer for years and have always come away happy!”
“I love how they make military style legos vehicles, tanks, planes and mini figs. Very friendly and nice. Great service. Answered all my questions. The only bad part is the sets are expensive. I would go back again”
“Come here not so frequently but always left with a good experience. Employees are very kind and helpful. Boss man is always kind and polite and fully of positive energy. I bring my items to trade to this location really frequently compared to other locations trade value they’re my best option. Only thing I can say is do inspect your figures whether you’re buying or trading. I’ve had a couple issues but they’re quick to fix the problem with the figure or make up for it if there’s no replacement pieces. Aside from that my favorite store. 10/10”
“Had the best experience with Wendy today... Not only did my son (who has severe ADHD) sit still the entire rime, but we absolutely love how his haircut turned out... He's all set for school now!
Thank you Wendy!!!”

“I called the store looking for some cake decor, and Manny was so polite and helpful over the phone. He was able to find exactly what I was looking for and more, and hold it up front for me. When I got there, Jessica and Manny were waiting with my items and happily checked me out. I am so grateful for their help!”
“Great new feature ! got it deliver with uber took a day to confirm my order but got it delivered with no issues and saved me a lot of time! I will definitely be taking advantage of this uber delivery feature more often it’s a super handy time saver !”
“Our first time here, Stopped in to get a small stuffie for a small child. There were several pleasant knowledgeable salespeople working. They offered a complimentary gift wrap!”

“Great place to see all types of engines and rolling stock. Vendors are mostly nice and friendly. We did have issues with one; gave price, raised price, said Loco was new, and wasn't. But that's ok. Won't go back to that vendor. Many more to chose from! Have a hot dog stand, clean restrooms, plenty of free parking. 2nd time going, and we'll be back!”
“Came here to exchange a gift from a friend. I like that they have a lot of natural fiber clothes since at some other stores like target I can only find 2 items out of the entire store that are 100% natural fiber! Not sure what happened but my friend said they packed the wrong size of ruffle butt when they got the outfit. I went to exchange but they no longer had the size we needed. Still, the store associate was very helpful and helped us pick out another outfit that fit the same vibe.”

“Good Five Below. Fairly good selection and could get in and out fairly easy. Only downside is double check the snacks. Found a pack of beef jerky that was green and moldy.”
“If you are anxious to get your child’s first haircut as I was, just book with Ms. Sydney. She is so great at her job that my son was smiling whole appointment, it went smooth for us and the style is perfect even we let her do it by her reccomendation. Best at her job. Thanks again Ms Sydney cant wait to have another haircut with you.”
“Place is pretty cool. Go here on long bike rides with friends. We play the tabletop soccer game they have up front. I am something of a pro. Cool place. They have board games in the back. Yeah.”
“Attended kids bday party. There was a great selection of choices. The kids enjoyed picking outfits and accessories for their bears. Workers were very attentive and helpful. The store is a little tight when having a group of kids plus regular patrons. They have a great photo op wall for pics. Overall the kids loved the experience.”
“Just bought a bunch of LP condition WOTC cards for 50 cents each. They have many of the vintage cards organized in boxes by set. It was mostly commons and some uncommon but was a blast from the past seeing and collecting some of my favorite cards. They had some vintage holos and 1st editions too. A few were ~$20 but most were $40-90. Overall, I got a great haul and will be coming back in the future.”
“This is a good store to go to if you’re shopping for calendars. Make sure you go when they are heavily discounted. I went today and it was 75% off. We were able to get two calendars for $6.73. Besides calendars, they also have puzzles, board games, etc. I recommend checking them out. Just a FYI, they do open later than some of the other stores. On Sundays, they opened at noon. Service was good. It’s located close to the kiddie haircut place.”
“I was on the hunt for blind boxes and saw that Too Cool had some, however, when I visited, the ones I wanted were out of stock (i.e., studio ghibli). Overall, their blind box selection was limited. They did have a lot of anime figurines, keychains and plushies. And, a small section of Kpop.”
“The Bloomingdale store has awesome staff. They're polite, professional, and have personalities. It was a pleasure shopping and working with the knowledgeable staff ?”
