I made it to my appointment after all the hassle below. Guy at the front today is super nice and had everything ready to go, just like my first appointment december 2022 and the only other time I went. Said the call centers and store have trouble communicating and seeing appointments still and this was pry linked into why I never got notification. Tires rotated and service was great just like my experience in december 2022 so I can now update to a 4 because that one receptionist lady or whoever she was doesn't greet or pay attention to customers and is rude to her coworkers and will be on her phone and not even look your way.
Customer service update. Now the call center called the store and reached someone! Progress! He told me the store had no idea any of this was happening and my appointment i requested was approved. Nobody called or emailed. Nobody tried. Their call center couldn't reach them and finally the 2nd customer service person was able to reach the sore about 2pm and speak to them. Wow. Good thing the bbb site was down just before he called. That customer service rep was very professional and understood what was going on. He gets 5 stars but so far I have to have my appointment with the physical store before considering an update.
Updates pre appt. Got hung up on twice before even talking to a rep at your customer service.
Finally got someone. She couldn't find my store then hung up when I asked for a refund which is what the customer service line ext 2 is for.
Tried to call 4 more times phone kept haning up before reaching someone until the 5th time where it let me leave voicemail. I said call me back at my number bcuz you didn't discuss refund or even get me an appointment but hung up so my only other course of action is better business bureau. Your call center is just as bad as your front desk lady. Since it said I was 3 deep in line ill wait a bit before sending all my documentation to the better business bureau so they have a chance to respond. Who would want this company to touch their car if you can't even make an appointment?
Pay extra for roadside and lifetime tire rotations and now nobody will take your appointment by phone, email, or even in person. Nothing like listening to the receptionists personal drama for 10 to 15 minutes while she was at her work desk loudly talking on her phone ignoring the customer. To top it off she yelled at a service guy. Her coworker, who just grabbed an order and wanted to ask her a question, which she ended quickly telling him "don't ask me just go figure it out!" She didn't even break stride with her drama filled phone call. Do I get a partial refund since I cant use the services I purchased already with my new tires before the service went from 4 or 5 star to negative stars? It's now just over 2 hours till my latest appointment request and I have yet to get a call or email about if my appointment is confirmed even after calling the call center.
Haha, call customer service response. I already said in my review I called your call center and I still didn't get any info and am still waiting for any help. All I wanted to do was make an appointment. Which by the way I guess I'll find out tomorrow or never if today's appointment was approved or not. This isn't how that is supposed to work.

Was okay. A little confusing when I set appointment online and lady didn't know anything about it. Other than that was good service

Went there on 12/23/2024. Just got car back from my good honest mechanic in Champaign on 1/3/2025 to fix how this car x broke my headlight housing, and my mechanic found that this car X left air intake hosing laying around loose inside the hood of my car my mechanic found after the fact. This car x has dishonest people. They could have at least told me if they couldn’t reattach the air intake pieces so that I would have known about it. Don’t trust your priceless possession of ur transportation into the hands of these dishonest people. Also they didn’t check my tire pressure or oil level like I asked and they had somehow messed up the power system in the car on the media center when I got it in was asking me to enter a security code (see photo). Run far away from this place.
Also they like broke my headlight socket and handed me 2 pieces from it (see photo)
Also notice how car x responded to this review and to other negative reviews giving a number to call. I’ve called it multiple times and haven’t been able to get through to a real person.
Also the front desk lady Jessica acted like it was a problem when I arrived for my pre-made appointment because there was a wait time and she acted like this was MY fault. She has major attitude problems. I was traveling for Christmas and wanted to try to get my headlight replaced. She assumed I was local and told me not to drive to Champaign to get my headlight fixed. First off I live in Champaign Urbana, try having an open mind that customers might be traveling for Christmas if they are at a mechanic on 12/23. It was a major annoyance for your staff to tell me not to drive to Champaign and to make assumptions about where their customers live. Also Jessica made me go out and show her my vehicle even though I told her that it’s for sure my front left headlight burned out and nothing else burned out. She tried to act all knowledgeable saying she used to work at autozone and maybe she could change it. Like hello this is my vehicle and I know what’s up and I told her that this make and model requires a lot of work to get the headlight out of this car but she didn’t listen to me.
I highly highly doubt if the front desk staff at Car X is allowed to change customer’s headlights, and I told her NO and I said I wanted the actual mechanics to look at it.

Excellent service, quick, and unbiased advice. Had oil changed and brake lights fixed. Highly recommend and will visit again.

BUYER BEWARE: They will TOTAL your vehicle and you'll have to take them to court for them to fix it. They did not torque down my AC compressor when they replaced it, and wanted to charge me to replace it AGAIN when the mounting bolts came off less than 10,000 miles later! The bolts got stuck in my engine and now I need the engine replaced due to their negligence. I was without a car for EIGHT WEEKS while they kept my car in their shop, continously telling me it would be done in a few days every time I asked for a period of EIGHT WEEKS. You've been warned, folks. This is not a reputable place of business. They've had their BBB accreditation revoked for a REASON.

Had a flat tire my girlfriend and I were trying to change and an employee from this location that lived nextdoor came over to help, right after he had finished his shift for the day. He drove my tire back to the shop to finish the job, and even helped another customer while he was there.
Thanks to him and his phenomenal customer service, I have a drivable car until I can come in to Car-X on Monday and get my other tire done. Big thank you to Mr. "S" and I will be in soon!

They put the wrong tires on my van, which I discovered 1 month later in the Rockies on vacation. One had developed a bulge by then. Could have killed my whole family if it went on some tight mountain pass. When I confronted them about it, they denied everything despite it all being documented. AVOID

Could not believe how the front desk woman acted. She was extremely rude and acted like we had come in and crapped on her shoes. Ended up pounding her fists on the desk in a fit like a child while we were waiting for our tires to be put on. Absolutely recommend you go some place else

I simply called to make an oil change appointment and was told they have no show technicians. I showed up the next day at my scheduled time and the front desk told me they have only one technician that needs to work on 5 cars before mine. They were frantic, unprofessional, and implied it was my problem if I didn’t want to wait all day for an oil change. I’m a new customer and I won’t be coming back. I would not recommend ANYONE going here.

This is the worst oil change company you can find in Bloomington IL, I will suggest never go there. Here are the few points .
1. They don’t honour appointments. Even If you come at appointment time, they will take yours car in when they have availability and even if they take, they will take hours to just change the oil.
2. They charge exhorbitantly higher price, some extra charges like environmental tax, sales tax will be charged along with the oil change, I never remember paying these charges any time before. It’s cheaper to change oil in a dealer shop rather than here.
3. The support staff, the receptionist is extremely rude. If you ask any information most likely they will not tell you, even if they tell, their reply will be very rude.
I went here and it’s my last time to change oil in this shop, I will also recommend to others not to visit Carx in east land dr Bloomington IL.
