Made a huge mess out of our taxes. Extremely hard to get in touch with for the guaranteed corrections that HRBlock stands behind. Rude customer service from our preparer that has real issues admitting she’s wrong.. it’s been an unresolved nightmare. Do yourself a favor go find a tax accountant who will work with you Been MONTHS of an unresolved mess!!!
### UPDATE MARCH 2025 Still Awaiting our AMENDED RETURN THAT HR FILED AND SCREWED UP AGAIN!!!! Unbelievable frustration. My advice is to stay away from the Bloomington Illinois or any HR blocks. We have their extra guarantee, paid over $800.00 for get our taxes done and it’s been a year. They made a 9k mistake. Ridiculous that it took 5 different preparers that couldn’t see their mistake after repeating to show them the issue!!!! And we still are awaiting the refund because of the way they amended!!!!!!Run as fast as u can!!!!

I have completed my taxes at this h&r last year with wayne who was wonderful, he was kind, helpful, and patient. This year I was not able to book with him today so I accepted an appointment with Jen Mcginnis. She was snappy, rushing, and clearly annoyed, besides when she took the time to happily chat to her coworker. When I sat down she grabbed my paperwork and when I informed her I had additional paperwork electronically she practically rolled her eyes at me and said “didnt she send you the link?” (presumably the receptionist) and when I said no she seemed very irritated and sent them to me. After I was able to upload 3, and noticed her working, I asked if she could explain things as she was doing them cause I had struggled with a portion I tried to do on my own, she then told me that the issue I was facing “did not exist” until I pointed at the spot where they did, crazily enough, exist. At this point Im wondering how much her hassle is even worth and when I ask about the cost she snapped “290.00 tell me now if youre not going to do this cause im missing time with my kids.” as if it isnt her literal job??? Like im sorry you hate the profession you chose but it was 6:30 and they close at 8?? She was infuriating. I got up and left and would go anywhere but h&r from here on out. Wayne was great, if you have to deal with their pricing, go to him at least you wont deal with an adult temper tantrum over simple questions and concerns.

I did my taxes at H&R Block this year again, and honestly felt like my Tax Pro did an amazing job. I only worked part of last year, but we both still agreed to file taxes. Thanks again for another easy tax filing.
