Unfriendly staff. The type to stare at you waiting for help and continue to put clothes away or tagging other items.
They took some of my stuff for a very low price compared to how much they were selling their clothes for!! I saw shein jeans for $25!!
Never going back I do not recommend!!

I went in there to sale my BRAND NEW CLOTHES that was in season for them to turn them down. It was BRAND NEW but I see this store has no sense of style. NO SHADE but THROWING SHADE

DONT COME HERE. Unprofessional staff, horrible pricing/selection, and scammy offers to buy clothes. Just go to the Peoria one if u can.
Offered me $5 last week for my basically brand new $250 designer wool sweater. Labeled it at “no label” despite the fact I know they have this brand in their system. I’ve sold this exact sweater in a different colour to the Peoria store and they offered decent money. Super scammy vibe and no attention to detail.
25 for a hoodie with a huge stain on the front, 30 for a ripped sweater, 20 for shorts with a period stain on the crotch. Ridiculous selection to buy from.
They have some good jeans here and there, but you have to search for it. Lots of skinny high rise jeans.
The workers there are horrible. Super condescending and they act like they’re about to laugh when you talk to them. There was a (I think) high school senior who’s new there and she’s great. Very polite and will actually help u.
If u can manage to drive to the Peoria store, just go there. They have genuine vintage and a better curated selection, PLUS THEIR STAFF IS FRIENDLY.
I love and adore Plato’s but this store is horrible. Would give it less than 1 star if I could. 0.5/5, only 0.5 because of the hs senior/recent graduate employee.

Extremely unprofessional staff and very understaffed. The girl going through the buys takes about one glance and wether or not she likes them she’ll pass she does not take into consideration the brand or condition just bases her passes on wether or not she thinks it’s cute . I watched one do an all pass because it was Boys clothes and she doesn’t “like doing that “maybe don’t sell boys clothes if ur not accepting them. Better off selling on depop or clothes mentor. Been here on multiple occasions where workers talk the whole time they check you out , eat while on the register, and even the way some of the workers dress is very unprofessional they’re always in pajamas. owner seems like they don’t even care though. DONT SELL HERE !!

Brought items in to sell and worker was immediately unapproachable and referred to manager when asked to bring in an additional tote. Ended up not bringing in said tote because of how negative the response was. They sorted through my items for over 30 mins to then do an all pass, following this horrible energy. Took the same items to Champaign and they gave me $74. Bloomington store staff and management need a huge turnover in customer service, communication skills, and interpersonal connection. It was absolutely vile.

I was in Plato’s closet last week and frequent the store often with my teen daughter and have never encountered any issues with the management. Any issues I’ve ever had have been addressed immediately and without hesitation. Patricia really does seem like she made a targeted post and it is clearly fake. Management should investigate as it seems like maybe it’s a previous employee? Either way, I’ll be back at Plato’s today to purchase school clothes

I go here often and the staff and management are always courteous, respectable, and professional, and this is from years of experience with the store. I've never had any problems or issues, the staff works very hard and handles a large volume of business

This place is horrible now walked in to sell and the manger was behind the counter but no greeting or no help. The girl who was putting the clothes up had to stop and help me check in. But when the white girl walked in behind me the manger greeted her and helped her check in. After my buy was done she only took 4 items. I asked her do she like me because every time I come in she has a attitude when talking to me. I also asked her was it my skin color because that was crazy.

This is by far my favorite Plato’s. I live an hour and half away and would go visit my son out that way so I would hop in here and there. It’s the only location that takes most of my stuff and gives me a breakdown, which I love.

I came in on a Sunday (fairly busy) and saw some employees working on the floor and most at the counter talking (could be talking while working) the floor was not straight what so ever, the shoes were disorganized like crazy and were kind of all over the place. I saw used drinks in the racks that looks slightly old as well, I understand their store arrangement of no drinks allowed as well as mainly having 1 shoe on the racks out of the pair of 2 for more space and less thieving. I am disappointed in the store, however, I thrift quite often and did find cute stuff there! Maybe the employees could be pushed a bit more to keep the store looking presentable and more focused towards the customers checking out like offering bins to people with lots of product in their hands so they could possibly find more items to try on and buy. I think this store has potential and just a little push for success :)

Went shopping here and I bought a pair of jeans. When I got home I noticed the jeans had large holes in the thigh area. Not sure why they were selling them anyway. I returned and was only offered store credit not a full refund for the jeans. The girls working both during my initial trip & when I went to return were not kind, were cussing, & saying mean things about employees who were off that day. Nobody greeted us & they did not even ask what was wrong with my jeans. My friend and I went into the fitting rooms and they were dirty and had clothes laying around even though there were 3 people shopping that night and 4 employees working at the time. Very unpleasant and unprofessional environment. I would not recommend going here. Unfortunately, I will have to return to spend my $25 store credit within a year or I will lose out on my money. There are much better places in town that treat their customers with respect and care.
