Don’t bother going near closing time. They will close and lock the doors early. Whats the point of having a time that you close when you lock up early.

While out running some errands on my motorcycle, I stopped by to grab a light bulb that my wife has been asking me to change. The greeting I got was very insulting. I was asked to leave my backpack at the front door (which is basically insinuating that I’m going to steal something). I stated that I’d rather not (I have some valuable things I keep in it), and that I’m just grabbing a light bulb really quick and pointed to the light bulbs (which are in view of the register). She then restated that I had to leave my bag there at the front door. I told her no thanks, I’ll just go to Lowe’s. It’s pretty obvious why I have backpack when I pull up out front on a motorcycle. I’ve been to countless stores over the years with a backpack (I just came from Walgreens), and have never had a problem. I go to this Ace about once a month because it’s only a mile from my house, but I’ll be going to Lowe’s from now on even though it’s much farther away.

The initial issue I had didn't come from within the store, but rather I placed an online order for some banker boxes which through Google stated it was a 10 pack. Through the website it did not show or state how many are within a sku. I was told via customer service to just return them. So I went there to return them and nobody not even the owner knew how to properly return an online order (store pick up). So when they returned it via their stock the totals came up different by being $0.48 cheaper in store. When I wanted to be refunded properly for the correct amount I was told to come back another day, told to wait at another register and given attitude by the owner over $0.48 due to bad training. Imagine if this happened 1000 times on refunds due to the stores improper training, that total adds up and can net the store profit while screwing their customers.
If more than one person was properly trained to return these orders including the owner. There wouldn't have been an issue with the refund amount.
It's even bad enough that due to workers being bored and standing around they ask you if you need help. Not everyone needs help while shopping and if they do, guess what, they'll ask for help.
I'd rather shop locally and Support small owners but this stuff is what drives me away to big box stores.

Great people at this Ace Hardware! I had to find some screws to fit a futon. They let me take a couple screws at a time and try it in the futon that was in the car until I found the right size. This Ace Hardware is super nice on the inside as well!

I had quite the unfortunate experience with an older gentleman employee at the store yesterday. I ran into the vape store and came back out to a dead battery. I thought to myself *how lucky, im right next door to an ACE* and walked on over. I walked towards the back of the store and saw an employee helping a group of men together. I patiently waited my turn but did notice how helpful and kind he was to these customers. **thinking to myself how great it is to have good customer service and knowledgeable employees** So now it's my turn. We ask if they have any portable jump boxes that we could use (lots of other ACE locations have one opened and allow people to use it in an urgent situation). He immediately had an attitude saying he doesn't have that and only has them to sell. I said "ok perfect, where are they located". The response I got was "um you know they're really expensive". Ummm, what!? No one asked him the cost. I asked the location. So again I asked where they are located. He seemed really bothered to have to come show me where they were located. He takes us to them and says "see thats expensive" and kept telling me to ask someone I know to jump my car. Seriously this man tried everything in the world to not serve us. I see the price...$129. Ok, seems reasonable, pick it up and let's get out of here... My fiance asked if they come with any charge on them and the man acted like he didn't know, saying "hmm yeah you would have to probably find somewhere to charge it first" It took everything I had within me to not disrespect this man from the first words out of his mouth and throughout this entire encounter - but I'm 40years old and respect my elders so I held my tongue. What happened to the helpful, kind, knowledgeable man that the people before me got?! This man doesn't know me- yet made it clear he didn't think I could afford $129 product. His vibe helping 3 white men was perfect and how anyone in a store should deal with customers. However when me and my black fiance walk in, it switches?! I don't usually assume situations are about race but I have no choice but to assume that is what this was about. I shouldn't have had to ask more than 3 times where these jump starter boxes were located. It's not his job to assume what I can or will pay for something. He doesnt know us, he doesn't know our finances. He blatantly profiled this mixed couple as not as worthy of his time, energy, and knowledge and used his own deep seeded biases to believe we have no money. I'm so disappointed. And honestly shocked by the disrespect. I'm glad I didn't stoop down to his level and disrespect the hell out of this ignorant man but I feel it's necessary that people know about situations like this. People feel entitled to behave the way the do because no one checks them or speaks up in someway. This ACE location is in a diverse community and should not be operating if you can't serve all people with the same respect and positive customer service. I don't feel comfortable ever going back here.
But on a positive note, every female in that store was smiling, spoke to us on the way in and out, and were just kind. That all I ask for- kindness and respect.

Very well-managed Ace Hardware location; and they also have a nice Ashley Furniture selection at reasonable prices. I have bought furniture here a couple of times and also numerous items for my home. The customer service is excellent !

I was ripped off today when I was charged $7.50 for a 25 watt light bulb that should have cost around a dollar. They have lost a local customer forever. Maybe it doesn’t matter if them! The bulb clearly was returned by another customer because the package was damaged. I would have returned it also but it had a pressing need. Never again!

Awesome to go to a hardware store and find knowledgeable people that help you out, unlike the big box stores. Their stock of grills, smokers and accessories is quite extensive.

Very unhelpful rude lady running the cash register today. Tried to shop local and be supportive but probably done with that idea. I'm a rewards customer, saw a 25% discount for my purchase on a large sign at the register. Asked for that to be applied but she huffed and sighed out loud like how dare I ask for that. She'd have to call someone. She needs to call someone who can tell her it's not good to treat people badly because they don't think of ever coming to your store again for anything else they need. It's just crazy to be such a grump!

Very happy with Ace Hardware! They have a good selection, and they will always assure you find what you need. The staff are absolutely amazing and know the store front to back!

Horrible customer service! I brought back a Milton V Coupler piece with the receipt. The manager said they wanted the torn open backage as well so that they could put it back on the shelf? I did not have the package that obviously would not serve any perpose whatsoever after being ripped open to try the piece on my air compressor hose. The manager made no sense and obviously had an ego problem. Don't shop at this location.
