Kris is the best trainer in the state of Illinois! He works with people of all ages and helps them succeed in whatever their goal is whether that’s building muscle, becoming faster, or just to relieve some aches and pains. He is very knowledgeable about the body and how each part functions as well as the proper nutrition needed to fuel your body. In just two months he has helped me strengthen and alleviate pain in my knee while also increasing my overall mobility/flexibility and tighten my core!He is also the owner of BENG FOOD that is 100% vegan friendly and has a variety of great tasting food!Anyone that wants to improve their health Kris can and will help you get there

You only need to walk by as you shop through the mall and you can see the energy this facility is giving to our youth all the way up to our grandparents. My Son attended here before he left to focus on his Boxing full time,Under Kris' referral. I am truly grateful and proud that "The Department of Health and Fitness" is available to us all. The DPH is the place to be for anyone who is looking to develop and strengthen their minds and bodies correctly. Kris and his staff are very professional and very knowledgeable about human health and the steps needed to maintain or increase overall health. Kris has worked with my HS girls basketball team for about 4 months and I’ve seen tremendous growth in their overall athletic ability. The great thing about it is that, it doesn’t matter how old you are or how athletic you are. They work with different ppl from many backgrounds! You’ll get what you need!

I have learned a lot about fitness and nutrition from Kris. Training with him has increased my range of motion and given me a better understanding of how to use my muscles. Kris runs such a wonderful program….he works hard to know what each client needs and takes time to get to know them. He teaches and helps my kids understand how and why muscles/the body work and what they need. My 17 year old often comes home telling me something she learned from Kris or will say “Kris is so smart”.I am elated with his positivity, encouragement and wisdom. That allows me to know my kids are in an environment, working with people, who will help them continue to grow and pour into them good stuff (that we value), not just the knowledge of becoming faster and stronger athletes but also being good humans!!! I love that he pushes them to excel and keep reaching when they aren’t sure they can and does this in a way that is kind and empowering! They love going to work with Kris and never want to miss it….that’s a huge compliment coming from a 17 and 14 year old!

I had worked with Kris for a large portion of my life and during many transitional periods. He knows how to truly pay attention to the needs of clients in order to achieve their best outcome. His teachings are invaluable and truly unlocked my potential through constant motivation and exercises in discipline.

I've been training with Kris Kalmese for almost a year now, it's the best move I could of made! When I first started there, I had hip, back and leg issues, along with a constant limp! Those are all history now! I highly recommend the Department of Health and Fitness to anyone of any age. If your serious about your health, this is the place for you! Kris is amazing and definitely gifted at what he does. He puts your needs and time first! His partner, Shaunn is a great asset to the program as well! He has passion and the right personality for the little ones.

Amazing place to learn about yourself and not only how strong you are physically but also mentally. Kris makes everyone feel welcome and it doesn’t matter what your age is or fitness level you will leave his studio feeling much better than when you walked in.

There's quite a lot to say about DHF! The atmosphere is welcoming and loving with a sense of "I'm going to learn accountability". I would say a lot of that comes from Kris, who leads this great service and provides so much to the community. I recommend DHF to all ages and especially anyone who wants to better themselves, not only physically, but mentally.
