I shared with her the importance of my request and 17 minutes later, a phone call to her boss ,who was off that day, and a florist who was off as well, she won over a New Mexican who has my distant business for as long as my bestie lives there. As a retail worker myself, excellent, thoughtful, caring, and understanding customer service that is willing to go above and beyond the norm to make a customer smile and jump for joy is rare these days. It would have been so easy to stick with "I'm sorry we don't deliver today". She even sent me a photo of the arrangement!
