I can honestly say that taking my baby princess cat here was a mistake that I regret every day.I took my 2 year old baby here for a tooth extraction and when I picked her up they told me she had feline leukemia virus which it was shocking to me but I understood and they also told me to comeback in about two weeks for a follow up, by the following week my baby was not getting any better and began to decline in other ways that I wasn't expecting, she was not eating or drinking at all and she wasn't able to walk. I went back for the follow up and talked to Michelle Kovacs which seemed like she didn't care or had no experience at all because all she gave me was some papers and didn't explain to me why was my sweet baby was getting worse by not eating drinking and not walking. My sweet cat had lost all control of her lower back and legs.I do want to mention that before taking my baby to this place, my baby was running jumping doing everything cats do. All she had was a broken infected tooth that needed to be pull out. I really don't know and will never know why and how a simple tooth extraction cause my sweet baby princess cat to pass away two months after her visit to this place. She was never able to bounce back to normal. She wasn't able to eat normal anymore, she wasn't able to use the litter box anymore and she never wanted to drink water anymore. She was only 2 years old. I miss her every single day.No I do not recommend this place. They really don't care all they care about is money, they even charge you a deposit for an appointment when other places much better, cleaner and more professional in the same area don't do.

I don’t know where to begin. I was very happy with my visit. This hospital is the very first hospital that made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I didn’t feel like I was annoying the staff with my questions and they were very helpful. All in all I highly recommend this place.

From any animal hospital I have ever been to, this place is by far the best. The receptionists are always so nice and helpful, even over the phone. They are also very good about scheduling, I have never had an issue getting in, even under a time crunch.I feel so welcomed here and they truly deliver the best care. I would not take my pet anywhere else and I recommend taking your pet here.

Everyone was very kind and took my dog on short notice when he got sick one day. Dr. Kovacs provided excellent advice and recommendations, and I really appreciate the commitment to care! The techs were so nice and the pricing was completely within expectation for the service/product provided. Thanks!

We brought our elderly cat, Fuzzy, here on a regular basis after his prior local vet turned out to be subpar.Dr. Schaele is very caring and involved. He makes sure to thoroughly go through test results and ensure you know what next steps to take. After a visit, the office calls and asks for updates on your pet's health, which shows their continuous care.Due to Fuzzy's old age, he experienced an incident at home that resulted in us having to put him to sleep at an emergency facility. Dr. Schaele and his team were quick to send us flowers and their condolences. My fiancé and I appreciate that even after Fuzzy's passing, Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital continues to show their care for him and our family.

I brought my sweet old cat into this place a month ago because she was lethargic & wasn't drinking as much as normal. Inside of an hour they charged us $1100 for a battery of tests and essentially came back with no plan of action other than monitoring. It was neither urgent nor was it made clear to me what next steps would be beyond supporting her eating and drinking as much as possible. At no point did they make it sound like my cat was seriously ill.A couple weeks later we came back because she was still lethargic and had a bit of a sneeze. They treated this as even less of a concern - a round of antibiotics and back out the door. I want you to understand that at this point our cat was bloated, lethargic, barely eating or drinking. They advised us to give oral antibiotics - basically left it up to us whether or not do to so. We don't know anything about veterinary medicine, we just trusted them. You're supposed to be able to trust them.An agonizing week of feeding her medicine she hated where she regressed even further, we called for advice and they basically just told us they didn't have a doctor on staff today and we should go to the ER. We instead booked an appointment with another facility in the area, in Palatine, and one single x-ray and a cursory examination told them our cat was seriously ill and likely suffering tremendously. They advised we either go for palliative treatment at an ER or we put her down, flat out, no minced words and so we did.At every turn, we felt ignored and dismissed by Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital. I don't feel like they ever addressed our concerns comprehensively. I don't think they created a treatment plan. When we went to the new animal hospital today and requested the test results from earlier this month, Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital couldn't even collect our records properly, records for a test they charged us $1100 for - suddenly there was no ultrasound record? Basically it felt like they didn't want to actually care for our cat, they just wanted our money and they wanted us to leave for an ER when something went truly bad. Both of our visits there this month seem like, in retrospect, a tremendous waste of time and money but MOST IMPORTANTLY, IT WAS A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF PAIN AND SUFFERING FOR A SWEET, INNOCENT ANIMAL - MY FRIEND - THAT DID NOT DESERVE IT.Don't take your pet here unless they're healthy already. They will butter you up and rush you through. Our friends deserve so much better.BGAH, if you are too busy to take on clients without rushing them, too busy too properly advise on treatment, STOP TAKING ADDITIONAL CUSTOMERS. It makes you seem greedy and callous and I'm going to call a spade a spade. If reading this spares even one person's beloved pet this experience, it was worth writing. Our pets trust us to care for them and I can't help but feel I let her down even though I did everything I was supposed to. Horrible.Edit: Just to be clear about the manager reply, we called back MORE times with several updates and were made to feel like my cats symptoms were normal. There was no concern from staff or vets. I brought her in on Aug 21st and NO ultrasound or radiology was offered to me. How could my cat be deemed healthy and stable enough for release and dead one week later?? Beyond that, again, I implore the reader to understand, AN ULTRASOUND WAS PERFORMED ON THE 4th ON SITE WITH NO RESULTS ON RECORD. MY HUSBAND WAS IN THE ROOM. NO ADDITIONAL RADIOLOGY WAS OFFERED TO ME.Do NOT attempt to reply with incomplete information on your poorly kept "charts". Disgusting. Do NOT contact me or my family.

Every person you encounter here is so kind and outgoing. They truly care for each patient and love what they do. They are very willing to help or give advice over the phone as well. Every time I come in, it’s a pleasant experience!

We love taking our cats here! We had a horrible experience with another local vet so we gave Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital a chance and have not gone back. We are thankful to have found a vet that is caring and diligent in their work. The staff is incredibly personable and our kitties love visiting the vet! I can trust them to take care of our animals and know they are in good hands when something is wrong. I highly recommend Buffalo Grove Animal Hospital and so do Benny, Bumpy, and Brinley!

My dog was experiencing eye irritation and wouldn’t eat so I took her to a vet ER, spent 4 hours and $$. They sent me home with eye medicine and told me if she wasn’t better in 7 days to take her to a specialist. The next day I called Dr. Schaele, explained that she wasn’t herself. He examined her, determined that she was in extreme pain stemming from her mouth. He sedated her, did a procedure, sent her home with medicine and now she is back to normal.I thank God for Dr. Schaele, Lauren and the rest of the staff. I believe that without them, my dog would be in bad shape or worse.

I have been going to BGAH for the past 3years that I lived in the area. The staff at this hospital are unmatched. From the specials on Wednesdays for half off primary shots, to the warm welcome at the inception of your visit, it’s truly the kindest and most caring Veterinarian office I have experienced in my young dog/cat Mom life. The prices are incredibly reasonable, the bed side manner for anxious or struggling doggo’s is everything you hope for and more. The care is truly unmatched.I recently took my dog into the office upon him slicing his nail, and while I was a mess thinking about the pain he was in and the blood around his paw, Jackie and the Doctor, were able to repair my big boy with exceptional care, medicine, and love. I can’t say enough about this office and I’m happy with that problem. Take your pets here above the rest, because this is where pets become better than the rest.
