We wired a large (depending on your definition or large) sum of money for the purchase of a house out of my wives account here on 2/14 and the money still hasn’t been released by the bank. We spent hours at this branch and at Arlington heights branch and no one can figure it out. We spoke with the managers at the buffalo grove and Arlington heights branch and neither of which could help and both were fairly useless. Our money is inaccessible to us at this point and it’s been over a week. We will be moving our family’s bank accounts away from citi bank. We had to borrow money on very short notice and this botched wire has cost us dearly. Will they cover the costs? Of course not. Horrible service and I hope citi bank reads this and resolves it because our money is still in limbo as of 2/20/24

Anna Trawicki- she is the banker. I waited her for 30 minutes. Because she forgot her password to log in to the computer. Finally I leaved the bank. I never seen that kind of poor service in my life. She does need to stay home if she doesn’t remember her own password to help her customers! She wasted my time and her coworkers time too. Other girl was a good employee to help me. Anna Trawicki didn’t apologize for us!! So rude person

Its as if they dont want your money. And info isn't secure. Tried to establish two accounts. Branch said they’d help. We bring in paperwork only to be told it has to be mailed to home office. We missed the rollover deadline but made allowances. Paperwork was checked, and sent it. Nothing happens. We follow up. “Oh, need more info.” “Was anyone gonna tell us? Its been two months”We give them the info. Two more weeks. Nothing. “We need something else.” I said forget it. They still sent a letter requesting more info but this time the letter had our application AND part of someone else’s personal financial information. Good thing I’m honest.

We stopped into this bank today to get a Medallion Signature Guarantee. This is a simple process similar to a notary where your signature is verified. We have been customers for over 30 years. I tried callling the branch several times before going just to be sure but noone answered so I got transferred to general customer service for Citi and this lady verified that the Buffalo Grove branch could take care of it for their customers and to just bring ID and debit card. When we got to the bank we were told that the only person who could help was the manager and we would need to make an apppointment for another day as she was "busy". We could see her sitting at her desk and not looking too busy but we asked if we could wait til she was free since we had driven a half hour. We were told she would be busy all day and they could only make an appoinment for another day. This is just horrible customer service and the teller I was dealing with was rude and impatient when I tried to emphasize we had called and that we could wait. The idea that this manager did not have 5 minutes to give us to take care of this simple matter was unbelievable. We left and when down the road to Wintrust in Buffalo Grove where we have a business account and were taken care of right away.

To be upfront, this review is for Citibank on Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove. They do not offer that branch on yelp, but doesn't really matter as this branch is only getting 1 star reviews anyway.I had a Citi Gold checking account and accrued Thank You points during the time I had that account. Eventually, I switched to a regular Citi checking account and, without telling me I'd lose all my Thank You points, deleted everything when I switched. I have tried to get my points back, and even with them acknowledging they are sorry they didn't warn me, I can't get them back. I don't understand why they took points away I earned. But on top of that, since it was their fault, why they can't reinstate my points. All they can say is oops, sorry. I have never found Citibank to be customer friendly or helpful and this is the last straw. I'm going to be changing banks. The manager of the bank just sat in her office, too lazy to help. I would never recommend Citibank, especially the branch on Dundee Road in Buffalo Grove. Too many other banks to choose from who will provide customer service. If I could give 0 stars I would. PLEASE if you can bank elsewhere, do so.

Guys. Pick up your phone when it’s work hours. Unprofessional. Lazy. Useless. Incompetent.Update: after 17 phone calls to the same location, the rudest lady picked up. Could barely even speak English. Couldn’t understand my perfect English. Was completely useless and not willing to help. After repeated explaining my situation, and her repeatedly interrupting me, I have 0 more knowledge than what I had a few hours ago when I first started trying to get in touch. Way to waste my time. This location, from what I’m told, was good 10 yrs ago but went under new management and now no one there even speaks English. Everyone is lazy and incompetent. This location should either rebuild it’s team from the ground up or be shut down. Way to be useless guys! Way to earn that paycheck, hope you’re proud of yourself

I typically don’t rate/leave reviews for services and establishments, but in this case I had to go out of my way to do so. If I could give it 0 stars believe me I would.I have never experienced such terrible customer service. It usually takes HOURS for you to get a hold of them. Similarly, most of their representatives are clueless and have no idea what they’re doing. They don’t know how to help, they’re impatient, and rude. I thought popeyes had terrible customer service, but Citibank’s is just astronomical.Their establishments are typically dirty, there’s rarely any bankers, and it takes forever to get assistance. Their parking lots are empty for a reason.If you’re looking for a trustworthy bank with actual DECENT customer service, this is not the bank for you! I would suggest Chase or U.S Bank.

The people at this bank are so great. They greet you as soon as you walk in. They offer you coffee, they are so friendly and helpful it makes you feel at home. I Love this bank, the tellers and all the staff.

I came yesterday to deposit cash, ATM too the money but did not deposit it into my account. I called customer service & on the first attempt they hung up on me, second attempt someone actually told me their system is down and to call within an hour. So I call and wait for 35 minutes and no answer. I come today (Saturday) at 9 tellers are inside joking and won't open the door until 10. What business opens 10-5? When everyone else's open their door at 8:30? In addition to that you can never reach a live person at this bank since they list their phone number as the 888 one (customer service). I'm still waiting here to get my money that I deposited into the ATM & once I receive that, canceling my account with this bank. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
