I was at the Buffalo Grove post office this morning to do various Postal Service activities. I was helped by a woman by the name of Shanice.
Shanice was wonderful. Very helpful. Explained in detail the steps in the process for the changes I made. Very articulate and professional.
I highly recommend Shanice for anyone who needs assistance with postal services.
Thank you Shanice!

Zero stars is a more accurate, yet presently unavailable, option here.
It's hard, impossible, actually, to imagine a more incompetent conglomeration than FedEx and the USPS when assessment of service efficacy is the topic and the net sum of both of these hapless organizations rarely fail to underwhelm. Either one of these utterly useless entities, on its own, can almost guarantee a horrifically sideways transaction, but the sum total of both parts involved virtually ensures, if not a tragic outcome, than at least one sure to have gone sideways.
Having dropped an express FedEx envelope at the Buffalo Grove Post office for shipment on July 15, 2025, more than two weeks later FedEx has no record of package/envelope receipt, and because the parcel contained time sensitive media, shipped to Los Angeles and requiring arrival by July 28, 2025 as a pre-condiition to an ensuing and promised refund, I am out over $350.00 due, again, to abject incompetence. Having thrice called both FedEx and the Buffalo Grove post office, each of the six encounters with the ensuing miscreants resulted in no solution whatsoever.
Thankfully J.P. Morgan Chase's team of adroit customer service employees and its commitment to quality saved the day and refunded my expended, vaporized, funds in short order and with one phone call and a follow up response to an essentially boilerplate email. One wonders, however, why it should come to this, save the complete and utter incompetence and careless attitude on full display, daily, by the aforementioned, equally haplass, organizations named above.
Is it any wonder that Amazon is destroying bricks and mortar entities engaging in e-commerce that entrust their products, and propensity for repeat customer patronage, to the likes of these utterly incompetent trainwrecks? Jeff Bezos deserves every red penny he acquires if the adjunct/dependent variable allows me to never again have to patronize, more less think about, either FedEx and/or the USPS any time soon, if ever again.

Absolutely terrible experience at this post office. I came in to apply for a passport — there was literally no one else there, just me. The sign on the entrance clearly says walk-ins are accepted, yet they refused to process my application because I didn’t have an appointment.
The whole process takes about 15 minutes (I had all the documents with me), and the next appointment wasn’t for another 45 minutes — plenty of time to help me. But the manager flat-out refused with zero explanation or common sense. It’s clear this person is completely unfit to manage anything, let alone interact with the public.
If you value your time or expect even a basic level of service, avoid this place at all costs. Shameful.

I work around the area and have had unpleasant experiences with previous post offices. Today I needed to return a package and Kim was such a great help. She walked me through the whole process with such a positive attitude. It was such a delight to have had interaction with her. Due to her positivity and willingness to assist I have no room for complaints. 10/10.

I was visiting from out of town and had to ship something home. Luckily this location had Saturday hours. Kim helped me and she was so kind and very informative. I highly recommend this post office.

Just don’t go in there, always bad experience, lost my package that was very expensive, started investigation no response whatsoever…

This is the only USPS that has consistently marked my packages as delivered but they don’t come until the next day. So I’m sitting around waiting to see if someone stole my package.

OK so it is a post office so things wont be the fastest but the place is clean the staff works hard and you get your stuff done. I also like the drive by mailbox if I want something to go out right away

They packed a box. Charged way too much. It was returned to sender. Staff intentionally kept others waiting when they had an appointment. Then said take it up with the post master general. Most oblivious, uncaring, and negligent staff I've seen.

Always helpful over the past 30 years. I find them friendly even when busy. Only once in all these years was a mistake made. Can’t speak about passport help as I haven’t done a passport there .

Horrible experience, everyone has an attitude in there. Don’t work there if you hate your job. I had my passport appointment for 12. No one helped me until 12:18 because apparently the lady was on lunch. Don’t make appointments available if workers are not going to be available.
