The blower motor in my Ford van was working intermittently, so I decided to see what Advanced Auto had to offer as a replacement. I was pleased to see that they offered a genuine Motorcraft replacement online, but it wasn't available in the store. They did have 2 other assemblies in stock, both with different part numbers, both exact fit, both of the same manufacturer. Both also slightly different than OEM. I went up to the sales clerk and explained that I needed this part and it shows that it's in stock. He immediately went into a mini tantrum about how some lady came in earlier and said the same thing and that doesn't mean it's in stock at the store. Whatever. I don't care...
I give him my make and model and he tells me I'm in luck, there are 2 in stock. I ask him what's the difference between the two since they are both similar looking, but different. As I mentioned before, they are both from the same manufacturer. He read the notes and the difference was one was if I had A/C and the other was Heavy Duty and OEM. Well, I have A/C in my vehicle but that explanation made no sense since there are only 2 wire connections on either one and the one he said was OEM couldn't be because it looked differently from the Motorcraft part. Both were exact fit parts. I think that it's fair to be slightly confused as to which part I needed. He then suggested that maybe I should remove the part first and bring it in so it could be matched up with one of the other ones because my purchase was final and they would not make exchanges on the part. I asked even if the part fits but doesn't work or craps out? He said even then. My take on that is that the part isn't under warranty so buyer beware. I was a little taken back by that. Regardless, I chose the Heavier Duty model (which cost a few dollars less?) because it said it was Original Equipment and he went to grab it from the back. I opened up the box and it looked like it would work so I took the risk and told him that I'd purchase it. He proceeded to ring me up and I noticed that he didn't ask me for my phone number which they do to keep a record of purchases. I asked him if he could take my number because I noticed he was ringing it under someone else's name on the computer screen. He gave a little attitude about it, honestly. I then asked him if the part came with a gasket like it is shown in the photo. He said if the gasket isn't in there then it doesn't come with a gasket. Hinting... I then asked him if I needed a gasket and he said "no". I then told him that his answers to my questions so far haven't made me feel confident with my purchase and his answer to that was "Well, good luck" which I can only take as "Well, screw you".
I get home to find out I DO need a gasket which means I will have to source from NAPA because I won't ever go Advanced Auto or affiliate again. The part does fit and work properly, btw. It's the service that sucked.

I had a bad battery. I stopped by at this store and met Sam. He quickly started his job and test the battery before selling it directly. He knew what he has to do. Very smooth process,professional and informative, as he explained different options best for my car. I will recommend this store. Customer service is great.

My mom had an amazing experience here! When she had a flat tire Sam and Ibrahim were so generous when helping her out in Chicago's freezing temperatures. They didn't allow her to stand outside telling her it's too cold to wait. They helped her fill up the tire while she was inside!

Rogelio went out of his way to assist me with my battery issue. It was -25 that day and he took it upon himself to ensure I got what I needed for my car during these freezing times. Too bad I can only give 5 stars. 10 stars for Rogelio and sharing his knowledge as I'm now more aware of certain details I didn't know about my car!

I had a a very good experience in this extreme Chicago weather. Went in for my battery tested turned out it was bad and had it replaced and installed in a timely manner! Thank you Zak I really appreciate it!

Came in to replace a battery and had a great experience with Roger and the manager. Both were informative and friendly. Roger changed my battery in the rain, he deserves a raise!

2 employees that don't know what they are doing. Amari and Angel take out their anger of not knowing what they are doing on the customer. How can both of them not know how to process a return of a defective part? Very unprofessional, very rude, don't want to do their jobs. Will never buy from that store again they sell junk and don't know how to treat customers when they return the junk. This happened 10-26-23 around 12pm

If I could give a 0 rating I would ! Amari is one of the worst associates I have ever encountered in my lifetime - very disrespectful & has no customer service training whatsoever. Even calling the store , if Amari picks up , you will encounter ZERO motivation to help . It literally sounds like he is sleeping or super tired. I went in recently to return a defective part and I was greeted with curse words and disrespect , this even continued with his own co-worker. Amari was bothered that his co-worker was speaking spanish and they also had words. Amari started throwing stuff around like a child. The police had to be called to calm Amari down. Please get this person out of this professional establishment , as he has no business doing this line of work. I wlll never return to his store and I will gladly take my business elsewhere.
