I just recently moved here and don’t have a Illinois state id the new worker that just hired refused to give me my mail even after proof of identification and proof of residency because he needed a physical card to hold when I go there every other week to pick up a package and not once was I ever told I needed a physical card respectfully I’m switching postal services.

Terrible. Loses mail constantly gives me my neighbors mail and gives my neighbors their mail puts our mail on hold for no reason. These guys are terrible

The United States postal service has gone completely downhill. They either don't pay their people enough to keep enough staff or their workers have become so disgruntled. I have been trying to get in touch with an actual agent and all I keep doing is getting an automated run around. Do better post office

Dara is extremely rude and unprofessional. She should not handle customer service and should remain in the back sorting mail. There is no need to continuously make snide remarks and comments every 5 seconds. Hate your job? Not my issue. Be polite and have manners.

Hardly ever holds mail when requested. Delivers packages when we're out of town when requested not to.

Packaging is great, customer service sucks. No one will answer the phone unless you call right as they open, and after the 29th incoming call they might answer. Im tired of coming into the store and the older lady, always has an attitude. If you don't like your job go find something else. She told me I cant ship a phone internationally and when i call customer service usps, they tell me I can. There needs to be a new staff hired immediately in my opinion.

I was told they could not deliver my packages and know I have to pick them up. I HAVE NO WAY TO PICK THEM UP. I have called and getting a run around. I have things shipped because I live in a mobile home park that is not easy to get to town. I have been at home no one tried to deliver.

Full of incompetent workers. They don’t deliver mail to Evergreen Terrace, you can call multiple times & they’ll claim they looked into the issue for nothing to have changed. I left Carbondale & put a hold on my mail & packages for them to go ahead & deliver it anyway so now I have to go out the way to also talk to a school full of idiots to get my packages. They really contributed to why I left Carbondale because it doesn’t make any sense.

I’m not sure what’s going on at this location, but the workers are lazy, I tracked a package that said it was held at this location the worker told me 3 times it wasn’t there then tried to rush me out of there & go on to say it was in St. Louis, after she finally decided to do her JOB to go in the back in look for it ..5 minutes later she magically found my package, I’m telling you this is like the 5th time I’ve had this problem or another , something really needs to be done about the terrible customer service at this place maybe they need to retake a class or something..it’s ridiculous.. no apologies non whatsoever just rude & demanding, I also sent out a package on December 9th that says it’s still held at the Carbondale location meaning it never left it’s December 27th, then she lied to my face & said that was in St. Louis as well, when the tracking clearly shows where it’s at

I would give 100% for great mail service in comparison to most other post offices I been too. Post office personnel was always friendly and overly helpful May 2024 to August 2024 . For several months I got stuck around the neighborhood everything went well at this post office no arguments about receiving general delivery while traveling through here where we stayed off and on until the tall lady clerk at front desk brought in short curly hair lady manager to come-in and tell me I could not use general delivery anymore and could not get my mail unless I use po box, while stuck at local campground here with truck problems in Carbondale, IL area. I will say they gave me several months general delivery while I also have no permanent residence here since we can stay only max 14 days where we stay at. They were helpful but I thought unfair that my male companion who accompanied us here with almost the same exact circumstances stopped paying me rent this entire year as well, could continue his general delivery service there without a PO Box purchase while I was the only one that needed to purchase the po box to continue service even though we both been traveling through here with no local house or residence besides campground. Never resolved our truck problems and situation as of yet. Most of the mail personnel here were very nice and helpful minus the small situation of a couple giving me a hard time at the end to demand I get a po box or could no longer receive my mail. I do already pay for po box in other towns am already customer and I think USPost iffices should maybe consider situations as already being a paying customer for other po box. I think the rule is 30 days for general delivery but if we leave and comeback the 30 days restarts for general delivery? No doubt I am complimenting but also making note of the general delivery rules? Apply to me but not the other adult person who lives with me free? He also get his mail free at the post office now when I dont!

They love to lose mail. They gave my Amazon package to a woman who wasn’t me when I was out of town because they failed to adhere to their own policy of requiring a photo ID.

Everyone knows there are issues with the postal service. We all see the posters showing they are hiring. We all hear the stories from our friends and family about loss packages and mail not being delivered. Well today, I needed to mail 1 ONE small box. Normally I do my USPS needs locally but was out of town and decided to stop at the Carbondale location. First time at this facility and didn't know you needed to grab a number to be waited on. My number was 87 and they were on 66. Yes you read that right! There were people everywhere. All chairs were taken, people standing by counters, doors, walls, even out in the other lobby. They only had 1 (One) mail clerk working so it took forever. This is ridiculous. The clerk was nice though. However I'm going to skip using this location ever again.
