Ryan helped me with the problem I had with my 2011Dodge Grand CaravanI had engine light on and took it to Jiffy Lube same problem after that visit I then took my Van in to the Dodge dealership and they took photographs of defective piece
and they said to go back to Jiffy Lube the part was under warranty and should be free. But the prong was bent.
I went back to Jiffy Lube and talked to the manager about the problem showed him the photos Dodge dealership took He said he would replace the defective part and then said that there was a front and back sensor I told him to go ahead and put the back sensor in and the defective front one replaced I looked at the price and said go do the repairs. Got the I'll and the next day engine light came on again. I had coupons for Bartells Auto Clinic free. 2nd. Opinion
Ryan helped me with the work order to replace the defective bent sensor and do a synthetic oil change. Also check the brakes Add brake fluid and Power steering fluid. After test drive my Van was ready for pickup I came in the next morning Sunday and picked up the van But I forgot to get the paperwork and photos from Jiffy Lube and the Dodge dealership..Phoned Bartells to pickup the paperwork and photos. They were dropped off at my house mailbox.
Van was dropped off on Thursday and I got it back on Sunday. No problems now and Great service from all of the men and Ryan helped me the most.
I will be going back in the future for anything else I will need to keep up the maintenance for my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. Thank you Mary Carmen Catalano

Went to Bartel's needing an oil change and potential brake service. Was quoted $997 for front brake pads and rotors which is exorbitant. When I balked at the quote, was told they'd do the oil change for free and the brakes for $556. Upset at being ripped off, I paid for the oil change and took my car elsewhere for the brakes, where I paid $452.

I've been going to Bartel's for about 5 years and have never had a bad experience, they hire good competent people, they communicate well about what is going on with my car and provide pictures or video about what they are finding, they will drop me off at work or home when I drop my car off with them. Can't beat the service they provide, you might think you can find a better deal elsewhere but I would say you are losing out on the soupier service. The service they provide is worth the cost each time every time.

TLDR: 3 stars because I wish the sales person would've been up front and honest with me about ALL of my options and other ways I could go about getting it fixed.
I wanted to like Bartel's because of what people have told me and their reputation but my interactions with them about other issues with my car left me with a bad taste in my mouth. The quality of their work was good (so far no issues), their pictures and videos about other issues were efficient and helpful.
The part that wasn't that great is that I still felt like I was at a dealership trying to get nickeled and dimed into getting repairs. My exhaust had a broken connection and they said I needed to replace the WHOLE exhaust system, catalytic converter and everything despite those things being fine. My problem is that they didn't tell me that I could take it to a muffler shop and just get that part fixed instead of replacing the whole system. I only learned I could do this when I called a dealership to ask them for a quote and their technician recommended a place for me to get that part fixed. They also hypothesized that Bartel's was offering to replace the whole system probably because they couldn't weld.
I want to trust that my mechanic has my best interest in mind, not financial gain for the company, and Bartel's doesn't look like they're hurting for money. I probably won't be going back because I don't know if I can trust them to tell me the truth and how to go about fixing things in an economical way.
I just got my car back from Naperville Exhaust Works and they did a great job, cost me $250 to fix the problem compared to $1500 to replace the whole system. Check them out if you have exhaust issues.

Everyone at Bartels goes above and beyond to work with you on your car issues. They have top notch service and are very honest dependable mechanics. They do awesome work. Thank you Cody, Ryan, Tim and the rest of the staff. I HIGHLY recommend the Streamwood garage for all your auto needs.

My car drives nice but I spent $10,000 for work I'm not so sure I needed. I could have bought a new car for that amount of money!!! They had me apply for Koalifi for the 2,400 I couldn't pay and what a scam it is!!! If I don't pay it off in 90 days the price goes to 5,500!!!!! Hopefully I won't need to use the warranty because I really don't want to go back!!!

From the initial call, they were on the spot! I was able to make arrangements to leave my disabled vehicle at their location after hours. I had timely contact from the technicians the next day to give me an update as to what services might be necessary, including cost. They gave updates as to timeline and progression of service. Strongly recommended.
