The way this historic building was revived into a hotel was fantastic. You can add your own message and leave it in the brick wall.

My first stay here was in 2020 and I’ve come back every year sometimes multiple times a year. I keep forgetting to leave a raving gold star review but I remembered this time so I’m seated to get all my thoughts out. This place is THE destination. If you’re looking for a great, quiet, comfortable, cozy, clean, friendly, convenient, etc. place to stay on your roadtrip off I-70 come here and check out all the local shops in the morning on your way. The people are friendly and the town has such an interesting history. All the world’s biggest things in one place and sourced from local material. The list goes on people. The hotel itself is perfect. The bathrooms are always clean and stocked. The bedrooms are always tidy and clean. The building was excellently renovated and you can see the care that went into the renovations and restorations. Things to note because it’s old: the doors are a little clunky just be patient with them they’re old! (Maybe they’ll upgrade the doors who knows?) they also have an exterior elevator lift to the upper floors which is awesome if you can’t do stairs or have heavy bags. My personal favorite things about coming here over the years has been the cozy beds, the amount of light that comes in the huge windows. The sound of the train at night rocks ya to sleep like a good Midwest summer night should. And the convenience of the booking and checkin/out is mwah (chef kiss). I look forward to my stay here every year it’s like a reward. 10/10

Aside from our room being absolutely beautiful, it was clean and comfortable. This hotel is such a treasure! It was easy to book, find, and get into even though it was a late night, last minute booking. I will definitely stay here again in the future when I pass through!

The location is perfect for seeing the sites in Casey. The room was very cute. Hard figuring out where to go to get to the room and no real on site help. But it was all fine until 12:45 am when the people next door arrived. We quickly realized the walls were paper thin as we were woken up by their conversation , followed by them trying to open the shared door. In the morning, we were greeted by the sound of the man going to the bathroom… gross. In 40 years of traveling we’ve never experienced that. Better sound proofing is needed for sure.

My family and I visited this beautiful hotel and it really was nothing less than amazing. Such a unique place to stay and enjoy the town. It is in the perfect location.
The stairs can be a bit challenging but nothing that took away from the adventure. The hosts were si amazing and accommodating. With all great recommendations. We will definitely recommend! It truly is a hidden gem! 💎

The hotel was wonderful, we stayed in the “Gryffindor” themed room and my family absolutely LOVED it. Very clean, towels were large and very soft. Check in and check out was a breeze. The room was cool, temperature wise (it was hot and humid), they also provided fans, which I am a person that NEEDS a fan to sleep so that made me extra comfortable. Beds were nice and comfortable. Highly recommended staying at here if you are visiting Casey for any amount of time.

This sleepover was in an old historic building in downtown Casey Illinois. The rooms were the perfect balance between old and new. The service was friendly and always with a smile. A full kitchen downstairs that can be used by guest and a cool elevator to bring your luggage to the second floor. Being located in downtown made it walking distance to most of the attractions. I highly recommend a sleepover in this hotel.

We came down to see the largest stuff. Had a wonderful time. The hotel is centrally located. The themed room was tastefully decorated. Juslynn our host was knowledgeable and very helpful with everything.

Very beautiful stay! Responsive staff and easy check in. We had the loft room which fit the 4 of us perfectly. The room was very clean and with a unique design. My kids really enjoyed the loft space and spiral stairs. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to visit the beautiful town!

The people doing this strike me as very sweet, so I hate to give 3 stars, but that was my stay.
Pros:
Great location if you are here to visit the neat city of Casey.
Neat to stay in a 130 year old building-they did a good job converting this building.
Clean room and comfortable bed.
Cons:
Its really more like an airbnb since everything is online and text. There isn't a hotel lobby, it isn't staffed, etc.
The exterior elevator is one in the most basic sense and only goes to the second floor.
The stairs to the third floor are no joke. The ceilings are like 15ft or taller so it's like walking 2 flights of steps.
It was hot. The thermostat in the hallway controls the entire floor. It was set at 76 and the hallway is cooler then the room so I'm betting the room was 80 and the heat ran, until the host said I could turn it down. Problem was the thermostat can only be put in heat or cold mode (no auto) so I was afraid to switch to cold as overnight it could've dropped. So I opened the windows and turned on the fan and heard loud trains 4x that night. (It would be much better to have a modern smart thermostat installed).
Room 301 was advertised one way online but didn't have the full bed listed. When I checked to make sure I didn't book the wrong room I noticed the mobile version does not include this description.
If you find papers stuck in the wall, it's not trash but notes people leave.
I don't think the owners are misrepresenting anything intentionally and the temperature thing was the toughest thing about the stay, which, if I was more bold, I could've fixed but was afraid of the consequences for others.

Stopped in Casey on our way to St Louis. Room 202 was beautiful with lots of natural light. Reading little messages from other travelers stuck between bricks is really fun. You could spend your whole evening reading them if you're into that. There's a fridge microwave and 2 sinks. After you see all the big stuff it's a nice place to rest. There is a train that comes by whistle blasting, I loved it and it made me laugh 😂 a worthy quirk
