Be careful. ATM took my cash mid deposit and rebooted itself. No cash was returned nor was any posted to my account.

I opened an account at the beginning of February. In that time I got a debit card and was able to switch all my direct deposit information over. Today I was told there was an error and that while I owed them money for a past account, until it was paid all access would be cut off. Now I forgot I owed that money and had no problem paying it but the rudeness and arrogance in the way the manager just told me I was cut off from my funds due to their mistake in their system allowing me to open the account with out resolving the unpaid balance was infuriating. Then I paid that balance and I still have no access to my account and they are blaming it on me even though I used the same credentials as before but now it does not work. I just keep getting told it's my fault and no one is fixing the problem. So I do not recommend their bank, they claim to be about local customers and stiving to take care of you but they have no problem blaming you for their screw ups.

Don't bank with busey, I was excited to set up a bank in illinois for my first job. They closed my account within a few WEEKS before i could get my first direct deposit due to it being empty. The fact you cant afford to host an empty account for 3 weeks while sites like paypal and cashapp can is embarrassing.
All 3 people on the help line I talked to were rude and had a bad attitude. There are many terms of service, fees, and threats they leave out that they dont tell you when sign you up because employees just want their commission sale.
If youre bored and need stress or a reason to make stress you already have worse, pick Busey. Otherwise, you're better off just using an online service like Chime.

The online checking is a mess pay bills is in 2 different places and they do different things makes no sense. Checking account number feeds from 2 different places.. They had a one number typo and they actually wrote and mailed checks on a number that didnt exist. Just end of month I tried to just change an address on a recurring check, not sure it worked called customer service and asked what address was on check wrote on Sept 30th. They couldn't tell me. Your online banking needs an audit for usability and functionality by a group of test people. It hard to even find where you print out a statement

Warning ! I do not recommend Busey Bank ! They are holding my money and I do not have access to it any more !
I have a singificant amount of money on this bank for sereral years and I have progressively lost my right to access to my account by intenet, I was not able to activate my last credit card, and now they are holding my money and refuse to do a bank tranfer to another bank account ! Despite filling many documents seveal months ago and proving evidence of my identity (ID, passeport..) they still do not want to transfer my money ! Now they are not even answering any my emails...
Now I have to contact a lawyer !
AVOID THIS BANK, ESPECIALLY IF YOU WORK AT THE UNIVERSITY AND IF YOU ARE FROM ANOTHER COUNTRY !

Horrible customer service that can create problems but won't fix them and bad online banking software that won't let me fix them have made me regret them buying the last bank I used enough to look for a replacement.
