Surprisingly good. I got the tonkotsu lunch special with chicken and tomomasu. Recommended if you dont know what to eat in town. This is my first place I've tried.

Really good Ramen, salmon bowl and bento box meals. Reasonably priced.

We both got the Tonkatsu Black ramen bowls. The food was hot, delicious, a perfect amount, and the mushrooms were a great addition. I would say I wish there was some sort of spicy sauce provided to add.

The unagi bento is fantastic. Three large pieces of eel, cooked perfectly.

Just don’t go here. I should’ve listened to my friend when he said it’s not good. I got the unagi bento (and I love eel a lot) but there were SO MANY bones in the fish and I choked on it. I can’t believe i was served this.

We visited twice this year and both times were disappointing 💔 It’s so overpriced & the food is bad.
Can’t find the pic but the teriyaki don was so smelly- literally tasted like grandma’s old socks.
Fried chicken’s texture tasted weird- like fake chicken. Not sure what was inside the spring rolls but they tasted so bland. Basically toothpaste texture. The seasoning of food is okay except the sushi- the rice is so sour- as if they left the rice in vinegar for years. And the curry was so watery and sticky. Can’t describe how bad things were.
The worst part- every time you make a complaint, the server looks at you cluelessly then basically just tells you that’s too bad.

Food is bad
Ordered curry and katsu. The curry was slimy, very diluted and thickened too heavily with starch/something similar. The katsu meat was separated from the batter. Batter is too thick and the meat is grey and falls apart strangely. It was not fresh at all

Edit:
So I went again, and the items I got were a lot better this time! We got the tonkotsu ramen, the takoyaki, and the gyudon, and they were all very tasty. The ramen was very good all-round, with a good broth, soft and flavorful chashu, and other good quality ingredients like bamboo shoots and noodles. The takoyaki were also really good, since they didn't burn my mouth (which is pretty rare), and the octopus inside wasn't rubbery like it often is. The gyudon was pretty good, but I think the meat could have been a little less chewy. The rice with the dashi flavored egg was really good though (so I wonder if the katsudons are even better).
Basically, very good restaurant, but avoid the curry! I don't understand why that in particular is the only thing that isn't good, but it's not :( otherwise highly recommended though, especially for the ramen and katsu
Original:
I had a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered a chicken katsu curry, and the katsu itself was really good - juicy and crispy. It also came with miso, which was solid. However, the curry had the texture of slightly viscous water, and it had about the same flavor (which is to say almost none). It wasn't exactly bad, in the same way that water isn't bad, but it was kinda disappointing since the katsu was so good.
I think next time I'd go for one of the katsu bentos, since that was the part I most enjoyed, but I do want to come back and try their ramen and gyudon, so we'll see if my rating goes up after trying those.

The foods are generally good except the ramen. Usually it's a small problem, but the name of this restaurant is ramen bar. Rediculous

I literally drive an hour from Normal to get this ramen. it is my absolute favorite from the broth to the chasu. Best i've ever had, like even better than some Chicago spots.
