We ordered our new refrigerator from HD. Then everything went wrong with their "independent contractors" who do the installation. Appointment #1: Caused an estimated $3,000 damage to our property (We've had to file an insurance claim...). Didn't fully reassemble the fridge because they "forgot" the tools. Refused to connect the waterline. Left our home without finishing the install, and we found parts to the fridge scattered on the front lawn. Appointment#2: Nobody showed up. Appointment #3: Got a call from the installer two hours into our time window letting us know that they couldn't actually finish the install. Appointment #4: This one is scheduled for three days from now. This is more than one week with an uninstalled fridge just sitting in the kitchen. I'm sure it will be awesome (sarcasm). HD, you really need to get your act together. Either don't offer install or dump the independent contractors who show up in unmarked trucks. Geesh.

Do not buy appliances here. They told me and I paid for a bundle of appliances. They told me they would deliver them take back the old ones and intall the new ones. That was lie. All they did was drop the aplliances off and left. Said someone was so suppose to come back and intall the appliances I paid for. Well never heard from the liers. I n the meantime I intalled three of the four myself. They lie and are lazy dont shop there

I went to buy a fireproof safe and asked for delivery because it was way too heavy to lift. I assumed that they would be doing the delivery because I paid for it and the safe was in the store. It was to be delivered two days later, which came and went, no safe. I called them today and found out they ordered online and the safe would be delivered by UPS by 7 p.m. the next day. If I hadn't called I would have not had any idea what was going on. Unfortunately, there won't be anyone at my house then, so when I get home from work at 10:30 p.m. I'm going to have to try to get it inside by myself. Don't think I'll be buying from Home Depot again.

After reading other customers reviews, it is apparent there is an issue with this Home Depot location. My husband and I placed a flooring order on December 27th and still have not received our order (March 10th). Like Oscar said, Home Depot does not follow up on orders or call to let you know if your order is in or not- or even worse, check to make sure they placed the order correctly which was our case. My husband and I have had to physically go in the store countless times just to get a status update on our order. While we STILL have not received our flooring order that was placed in December, we have since found the exact flooring we would like to purchase at a different flooring company in town. In the meantime, we will be waiting for a call from Home Depot for an update on our order; my husband and I have decided we are going to stop doing their jobs for them. We might be waiting a while!

Panhandlers came up to me while in my car before I got out of car! Paging 3x was needed due to items blocked and I couldn't get to. When leaving I got in car and was approached by women panhandler.. I find it unacceptable ! They may have to hire security if they can't control panhandlers, not comfortable situation

This is a low class place with low class employees. Half the people here are rude and stupid. None of them really know where anything is. When I want a pleasant experience, I go to Menard's.

I have been buying a lot here in store and on-line. Maybe spent $1000.00 in the last few weeks, not a ton but enough. He is what I don't like. Last night trying to get 2 employees to stop chatting long enough to help me was not possible. I needed help 3 times with the same younger Oriental female. Probably the laziest person I've ever met. Did not stop talking to her co-worker, a black middle aged male and did not want to physically go help me, only tell me where stuff was. When I wanted a different color of carpet square instead of trying to order on-line, helping in any way,....no we don't have them,,,,,huh I just found them on line waiting forever for you to help me, which you did not. I use this store because it's close, the no checkout unless you consider yourself is also a pain. Why I quit going to Walmart, I'd pay more to have you do it. This store seems very low staffed. There is always junk in the halls. I'll still use it but would prefer a Lowe's or Menards in it's spot.

Rented a gas chainsaw from them. Just $39 for four hours, which is pretty reasonable. Got home, fired it up, and started trying to cut down some small trees ranging from 2-6 inches in diameter. Absolute disaster. The chain was completely dull. Could barely make it through a few inches. Immediately stopped and returned it, asking for a refund, but they only gave me 50% back.

Looking for a place that is not helpful, is laid out in a poor manner, and has the checkout next to indoor tractors? Then this is the place for you! Ran in for one item that I knew where it was because it took me 15 minutes to find it the last time I needed it. They have now moved the registers to the opposite end of the store next to all the lumber supplies where the staff is getting out pieces of wood for building material with their tractors. Add in a screeching employee trying to yell at a couple of gentlemen to get out of the way over the very loud tractor. Register would not work for me so I was directed to go to the one employee who was checking people out. She was helpful but the transaction still didn't work right. Exit is not labeled so had to ask how to get out of Hades. Now many stores have gone to an entrance only exit only deal, this one hasn't as the return is still by the entrance so people still do go in and out of the same door. I shant return.

I paid Home Depot, Champaign for a dishwasher and its installation and had one of my worst ever customer experiences. Long story short: I'm not making the case that if you buy a major appliance from them, you're guaranteed to have a bad experience. I'm instead making the case that if something goes wrong with your purchase, their appliance department will not have your back. They will not listen to you; they will not advocate for you. You're going to have to fight tooth-and-nail for your own rights as a customer. Given my experience with the installation team that the appliance department hires, something may very well go wrong. The service I got on my order was truly horrendous, and if I ever need another major appliance in Champaign, I will be taking my business either to Lowe's or a smaller company like Dick van Dyke's. This experience took a total of two days to resolve despite being an open-and-shut case. I have a more detailed review on their Facebook page-- Yelp has a word limit. The installation team had left my house with a dishwasher that wasn't draining, and refused to return to fix it even though I called them about it 20 minutes after they left. Additionally, according to my handy-man whom I had hired to fix their mistakes, they were apparently incompetent and had made very basic and avoidable mistakes, which not only accounted for the unit's inability to drain, but also accounted for all the other problems they had encountered during their visit: 1) they had forgotten to turn the power off to the kitchen before starting work, tripping the dishwasher connection. They didn't even think to check the breakers after realizing that the connection wasn't supplying power anymore, and had concluded that my wiring was faulty. Consequently, they hooked the unit up to my garbage disposal outlet. They would have known that the connection was fine, only tripped, had they gotten the idea to check the breaker box. I think a working knowledge of a breaker box is the bare minimum you would ask for from an installation team. 2) they did not remove the knockout plug in the drainage pipe, which was why the dishwasher was not draining. The knockout plug is a standard fixture of any disposal-to-dishwasher connection because you don't want water and food to flow into your cabinet before you've installed a dishwasher. I was told that the first thing any competent dishwasher installer does is remove the knockout plug. 3) they had failed to align the dishwasher parallel to the counter-- one side of the unit was protruding. They had also failed to adjust its height using the legs it came with, leaving an unsightly gap between the unit and the counter. 4) this is the WORST of their mistakes: upon "concluding" that my dishwasher connection was "faulty," they had taped the wires up with positive and negative touching. My handy-man tells me that because of this, if I had untripped the breaker that they had tripped, I would have started a fire in my house. Despite all this, Kowana, Home Depot's appliance dept manager, kept insisting that the problems were my own. She blatantly ignored my grievances, and even rudely told me that I could ask for a refund on the purchase if I wasn't happy with their service. Later on, when I had decided to keep the dishwasher that my handy-man had re-installed successfully, I asked for a refund on the installation fee instead. Bill, the manager of the delivery-and-installation company Home Depot hires, refused. He insisted that his company dealt with "basic installs," and that the problems I had raised were outside their scope, which was crazy since the problems were caused by basic installation screw-ups. Kowana also would not let go of an inconsequential misunderstanding. She had thought that the wiring was "faulty" because it had been installed by my friend, instead of my professional handy-man. How she ignored the fact that my handy-man had found that the wiring was fine, but only tripped, and con

Not COVID safe at all. Be careful here. Saw a guy two days ago walk in completely maskless, looking to challenge someone. Anyone. I got out of his way. No one on staff said anything to him. In fact several other customers were only wearing symbolic masks: chin diapers. Covid is rising again quickly, and HD is one risky place to go.

I ordered a fence with The Home Depot and invested $8500 in an aluminum fence. They quickly sent out a gentleman from Peerless Fence co out of Chicago. He visited my house and took measurements. I walked the back yard with him because my house has a high grade on the sides, and a berm at the end of my lot. He measured everything and we did the contract. I paid him $4500 up front and the ball started rolling. It took longer than usual because it was a special order. The contract said July 4th install date. A week later they call me and say that my posts got sent to the wrong place in Wisconsin. Add another week. They finally arrive and install and the gentleman who did the estimate dis not do his job properly and take in consideration the grade on the side of my house. He ordered a level gate and it has a huge gap. Now I have to wait for a sloped gate for another month and after talking to him because of his mistake, he tells me it is not his fault when he ordered the wrong gate. Now I have to order a new gate and he charges me $450 after a "small discount". It is so upsetting having my gate held together with cords because they did not do their due diligence up front. It is very sad that Home Depot would have 3rd party contractors that not only get it wrong but then claim it is not their fault. Now I am in $9000 for a fence and it will be 4-6 weeks before it is done right. If I pay $9000 I expect the job done right! Get it together Home Depot!

Big problem with Champaign Illinois store. I special ordered a sink, and the employee lost the order sheet. She tried to order from memory. She didn't get it exactly as I had ordered. She admitted her error but the manager wouldn't refund my money. Had to go through hours on the phone trying to figure out what happened. Order numbers were wrong because she lost the first one. They made themselves out as not wanting to eat their mistake. Since this happened I have purchased new carpet from another store. I will never shop here ever again. Very bad customer service from top to bottom

I have been to Home Depot a few times over the years to assist my folks with some things. First time was Black Friday shopping. My parents needed a ladder. Surprise, surprise- I ended up finding something for myself. There were some very nice leggings on sale- I picked up some for me and my mom. Home Depot actually has some nice Black Friday deals- not a place that I really thought about going to on BF. Passing by there this year, it was pretty busy. Most recently, I went with mom to get some light bulbs for a candelabra lamp and replace faucet. There happened to be two staff members in the bulb section when we arrived and they were a great help. Faucet section had a huge selection at various price points. Hope the one we picked out worked!

For some reason a phone call takes priority over someone who drives to the store in person.
