Every time I need to use the pharmacy for anything, my prescription is already paid for, I'm still sitting in the drive through or standing in line for 40 min to an hour. There is absolutely no reason for this.

Once again, another ridiculously long wait at the Walgreens Pharmacy at Village Green. The pharmacy tech could have told me the wait was going to be long and I would have run errands , but said to wait. I sat and waited for over 1 hr. At least they weren't rude this time. It really doesn't make sense getting mad at the staff. Its never the same staff, always unfamiliar faces who look overworked and disgruntled. This seems to be a nationwide problem and is indicative of a systemic problem with the company. They clearly don't value their employees and therefore their customers. They really are an expensive convenience store that happens to have pharmaceutical drugs in the back of the store. Most definitely NOT "At the corner of health & happiness".

If I could give this place less than one star I would. I waited in the drive through line with a sick baby for 40 minutes. When I finally pulled up they told me my baby's prescription wasn't even started yet. I asked if they could please make it up because he needed to be fed, and definitely needed to start his meds and was met with "Nope, sorry bout that. You'll have to come back." Zero compassion.

10 years ago I switched from the Walgreens on Springfield and Mattis because the staff was rude. The staff is not rude at the Village Green location in Champaign, but their service has deteriorated significantly in the last year, apparently due to a permanent staff shortage of pharmacists and techs. I agree with what all of the previous bad reviews said about long, long waiting times inside and especially at the only drive-up window. I have submitted written complaints with my suggestions as to how to improve the wait times, but have never heard back from Walgreens' management, despite them asking for our comments/complaints. In the past several months, they have closed early with no notice other than a sign on the drive-up window that they were closed or that no pharmacist was on duty. The average wait time for me at the drive-up is 20 minutes with 4 cars ahead of me. Often there are 8 cars ahead of me and I just leave. This week, I've made 4 trips to pick up one prescription. On 3 of them, there were 6-8 cars in line. On the one tonight at 8:05 pm, there was a sign on the window "No Pharmacist on Duty" and they were closed. I called and talked to the store manager who couldn't have cared less, but did bother to tell me, after I asked whether they were short-staffed tonight, he said, "Yes. They will only be open until 7pm the rest of the summer. I suggested he should tell the website person to indicate those hours on their website and he didn't say anything, so I just said "Goodbye". They will soon restock my prescription since it's their policy that customers must pick up their prescription(s) within 5 days once notified. I'm stuck with Walgreens because it's the only close Preferred Pharmacy on my (Part D Medicare) supplementary insurance.

Again, Walgreens has figured out how to distance themselves from customer service. All to speak with someone and after you proove your worth to the robot answering the phone, you are placed on hold (3.55 min so far). Next the robot explains the hours of the pharmacy and that they go on a short meal break later (4:55 min so far). Next how sorry they are but assisting other customers and there is one called ahead of you. Yes if there are 2 or more ahead of you typically means they are actually a answering the phone albiet ever so slow. Now 532 min into the call. THEN the phone plays the same 12 notes of a sad song before breaking into the same repetitave message EVERY 10 seconds and that there is one called ahead of you....pro Tip: they are NOT going to answer your call...guaranteed. I am now 1302 into call but they are so sorry as they are assisting other customers and that same one person ahead of you is stitch apparently. 1435...the impending end is near ... Strange short message message coming and then CLICK... They disconnect.... Same results, same message and same despicable 12 notes....I now hate piano music....thanks a lot Walgreens! 1723 now. Lucky I am transferring my prescriptions, while I type this and listen to your poor poor attempt @customer service. 1947 min, same one caller ahead of me, Same 12 notes... 21 min but now I will not be required to hate on Walgreens as my 1000$ of dollars will go somewhere else. Walgreens staffer, I hope you have something good to eat. Bam, disconnect 22 min. Scale of Hate piano 10/10 Walgreens 0/10 Walgreens corporate 1000/10

This is the only pharmacy in the many available in the chain that makes a genuine effort go the extra mile to find the generic on a ridiculously expensive name brand co pay on a medication I depend on to be able to work with a chronic medical condition. Every other pharmacy in this chain just shrugs and says "it's not here, we don't have it". If asked if they can try to order it, they will give you every excuse as to why that's not an option. This one location goes way out of their way to try their best to get me the $10 generic instead of the $140 copay, a week's pay for me. They are always very nice, and if their lines are long, how is that their fault? What control do you have over how many customers you have vs how many people are available to work at the location? Having a rush of business can and does happen, and this team is friendly and efficient under pressure. I personally appreciate these essential workers in this time of great crisis.
