Drove over an hour to clean out a unit that I had won in an auction, they gave me the wrong gate key. So couldn't get in so had to come back the next day. Will never mess with this storage facility again(Charleston il -extra space storage #2173

Easy to check in and get access. There was a slight snafu getting checked out but thankfully the manager was able to rectify the situation.

Very quick & easy to get the storage process going. I appreciated not having to schedule a time to meet an individual. The process was all online. Facility seems very safe & secure, units very clean. I would highly recommend. .

I found Nick, who I believe is manager over the storage buildings in Charleston Illinois, he worked with us so we did not lose our things during a rough financial . He was so accommodating and kind would fully recommend.

We were moving and used the unit in transition!! Just went to start getting boxes to take to our home and so far every box was invested with mouse poop & pee!! So far thousands of dollars worth of items damaged. Good luck getting ahold of anyone! We have insurance on our unit and can’t get answers on next steps to get rid of damaged items and get replacement.

Extra Space Storage has nice clean safe storage units. They are well lit. I often see an employee out at the units checking on them. He is so kind always asks if everything is going ok with the units. They have good prices. Definitely recommend them!

Storage facility is fine until you have a problem, such as the garage door opener on our 20’x30’ unit breaking with the door stuck open. There is no manager who lives within 50mi of this facility. I had to wait 4.5hrs for someone to finally come help. When the District Manager, Zach Ackers, called me after waiting for 2hrs, he told me “things break” and was overly nonchalant about my entire Saturday morning being ruined. He told me that the repair guy who was being sent from 2hrs away was “having his day ruined too.” Never offered compensation, only reluctantly offered $50 credit after I insisted that compensation was in order. Would not recommend.

Excellent experience came in clutch when needed a fast units and and understanding when unit got late and needed few extra days to pay will definitely use again if need them

I like the security, the place is very clean and it's warm for the upcoming season. You even get a very nice lock. Customer service is very helpful and friendly. I'm really impressed!
