“We have been with The Village Veterinarian for many years. Dr. Rediger and her staff are always wonderful. We feel that our Tootsie, like Molly before her, gets the best care possible from knowledgeable and kind and caring professionals. It’s a plus that they are also super nice.”

“We were worried about our leopard gecko (Gucci) and were in search of a vet that would be able to check on her. We called this office, and they were so kind and sweet and had us bring in Gucci as early as they could see her. The vet was so compassionate with her and had helped Gucci feel and look a lot better quickly. We are so grateful for their genuine care for animals.”

“I highly recommend this veterinary service and especially Dr. O'Brien. I called on a Tue because my 12 yr old cat was having problems breathing. The friendly, caring and professional staff gave me an appointment for the next day with Dr. O'Brien.I thought my female cat would be scared and uncooperative going into the vets by herself but since the staff and Dr. O'Brien were so gentle with her she didn't have any problems at all.Dr. O'Brien is an excellent, caring and knowledgeable vet. She made the proper diagnosis and treatment plan. My cat was diagnosed with kitty bronchitis. charges for the services my cat received were reasonable.Within 24 hours my cat was feeling much better and was completely recovered in 5 days. Dr. O'Brien called two days after my appointment to see how my cat was doing. I really appreciated that. I will be taking ALL 3 of my cats to this vet hospital because I know they will be well taken care of and the cost for their services will not be ASTRONOMICAL. THANK YOU Capitol Illini Vet Services”

“Dr. Boyce has been my family's vet since 1999. He is the most amazing vet you could ever find. We started taking our less than friendly German Shepherd to him when I was little. She had parvovirus when we got her from the seller. If you don't know, parvovirus is extremely contagious between dogs and is supposedly 90% fatal if not treated, and puppies can die in 48-72 hours with no help. As a child I can't remember what happened, if we went in or if we called and he advised us, but either way he helped us at no cost (to my memory) and we pulled her through it. She later contracted heartworm, another deadly disease, and again he went the extra mile and pulled her through it. We had her 13 years before we had to put her to sleep. He knew her attitude and offered to make a house call for us so she wouldn't be scared. He made sure we had a chance to make her comfortable and relaxed, and after he helped pick her up (she was 100+lbs) and gently put her in his car to take her to be cremated. He told us he had buried his dogs at the office and he would scatter her ashes with them. It was the kindest sentiment and helped ease the hurt a little bit. Growing up I had several pet rats, whose lifespan is only 3ish years. One of them I noticed had developed a hard lump, and being 15 year old me I wanted to see if I could save her. Most places I read about cost $300+ to remove a tumor from a rat so I was prepared to lose her if that's what it was. Sure enough she had a tumor on her mammary gland. He said he could take it out and I told him there was no way I could afford it and he asked me if he could do it and we'd talk about price later. Mom said I could so I did. When I got her back the next day, she very gently nipped on my thumb but was ok. He said it was a mammary tumor, and asked me for $25. I couldn't believe that. We paid him and I cried the whole car ride home holding her because I was so happy to have her for a few more years. I've had many outdoor cats over the years that he's take care of. One was a kitten that was born walking in circles. We took him in and he said he had fluid buildup in his ear. He drained it and Milo was perfect after that. My parents now take their two dogs to him and he's amazing with them. I'm currently taking my malamute to him yearly. He definitely gets on me about brushing her more as she has a VERY thick coat, but that shows me that he cares about her, too. I do brush her and can spend hours brushing her but it never seems to be enough, lol. She's lost her hearing and sight now, though. We discussed doing a surgery on her eyes one at a time so she can see, but I know there's no way I can afford that currently, even with as generous as I know he will be. She will also be 13 this year and losing her one day will devastate me to my very core. She's my whole world and has helped me through so much pain and suffering in my life as I've had her since she was only 6 weeks old. I couldn't imagine taking her anywhere else, and when that day comes, I'll take comfort in knowing that the greatest vet alive will be there to help ease her pain andher cross rainbow bridge. UPDATE: It's been two years now since I lost her, and I was correct in my last review. He was with her from day one, until her last, and he came to my car (her favorite place to be since the car meant she was going on an adventure with me) and she went as peacefully as she could. There will never be enough words to describe how truly amazing this clinic is, and how deeply they care for their patients.”
