Employee was wiping down the fountain drink station, but the whole station looks old and moldy. I prefer going to the location on 111th and ridgeland. A lot cleaner

Michelle is the rudeest enployee I have ever met. She cursed at me and threw my change at me across the counter because I asked for my receipt. Been coming here for years I have never been treated with so little respect in my life. I hope she is gone soon. Miss the old employees.

The two managers in the morning are amazing! Store looks clean and organized and well put together. Always has my favorite coffee ready too. We’ll continue to go every morning

Last night my life changed. All because I stopped at a Thorntons gas station. My son got out of the car as he has done countless times for me and other family members. He swiped my card, it authorized and he pumped the gas. He handing me my card through the driver side window. After taking off the glove provided by Thorntons, he got in the car. We buckled, sanitized our hands. I put my card back in my wallet and proceeded to head home. The pumps are notoriously out of paper so I dont even bother to have my son request a receipt. Besides I'm a refreshing rewards member. I get email receipts. So I continue on home, not thinking anything was wrong. I have frequented this gas station over 300 times. I pull in my garage climb the stairs to the third floor. Take off my shoes and go in my room. We are home, we are safe.I dont hear the knock at the door, I was washing my hands. But my 14 year old son hears it. Looks through the peephole and see cops. They ask him if we own a Hyundai Elantra. They ask him if we have possession of the Hyundai Elantra. They ask him did we just leave Thornton's. He responds yes to all questions. He calls out for me. He comes in my room to say cops are at the door. My heart sank. The fear that came over me was out of this world. My son was interacting with cops without me. I go to the door to be told that my transaction didnt go through. I'm confused, stunned and afraid to reach for my phone. I want to check my bank app officer. I'm reaching for my phone officer. My son is behind me watching all this unfold. Looks like I wasnt charged officer and he says it happens often at this station. I tried to relax but I see his partner on the steps with his hand on his gun. I leave on the 3rd floor with only one way in and out. Where did he think I was going. Over gas. Why. Just why.I put my shoes back on. I grab my purse. The officers have gone down ahead of us. We get in the car. We open the garage, the cops are waiting for us. We drive to the gas station. The cops are outside the door. I go in and I am met with a rude cashier named Darius. Who tells at me, it didn't go through. I say obviously that's why I'm back. He gives me my total, I say is that with my rewards discount. He yells again I already said nothing went through. My friend is on the phone hearing everything. My son is in the car watching. I pay for the gas. I request a receipt. I look up the same cops are in the gas station watching me. As if I was going to try something for $21.38.My causcian friend Cheryl Lynn, tells meI had the same thing happen to me... they sent me a letter... not the police.I drive home terrified and on edge. I comfort my child as best I can. I get up today to call customer service. Because I have gone to this gas station for years, I must talk to them. I call and get told by Chris from Thornton's that this is their policy. I was told that employees no longer have access to customer information such as emails or phone numbers. I say why didn't the attendant use the speaker to alert me. He again repeats this is our policy. I said you send police to the home of an African American womans home. Your policy is to scare people. My friend posted on her page and Thornton's outright lied. They stated they contacted me. They have not. They have not apologized. They just stated that this was their policy. For $21.38, I can never go to this gas station. For $21.38, I slept afraid. For $21.38 my son has more fear of the police than he already did. For $21.38, our lives are changed. And for Thornton's it's policy, for me and my son it's a new level of fear.I will not be patronizing Thorntons anymore... help me boycott them.
