Was denied a car because I didn’t have a valid return ticket (never mind this isn’t an airport location). When I said I would buy a ticket they said it could not be bought same day and must be purchased ahead of time. After some discussion they suggested I use enterprise instead because their policies are different. As soon as I left the branch they called enterprise and told them we had a fight and not to rent me a car. Incredibly shady business practices and no customer service. Also they have no direct phone line so good luck speaking to someone actually at the location.

The best customer service I have ever experienced not only at a car rental, but anywhere. The staff were polite, personable, knowledgeable and nothing seemed too much trouble. I really can’t think of anything that was even a slight issue with the whole experience.Faultless!

I'm used to long wait times and just a lot of headaches in general when renting a car, but it couldn't have been smoother at the Chicago loop alamo. Rhi and Zach were amazing, same with the rest of the staff. Will be renting here exclusively.

Great customer service. Quick in and out. Honestly as long as you can read and follow directions there shouldn’t be any issues with this location. Had no issues reserving 6 months ago. Reservation wasn’t cancelled and confirmed the day before with no issues. People complaining they can’t find the place blows my mind. Office is on one side and the drop off is on the other. All you have to do is search “Alamo” in Google and it tells you where to go. I would definitely rent from here again. Car was clean. I won’t say names but the rental agency across from them told people they didn’t have time to clean their cars and if they wanted them they have to take them as is.

I hadn’t rented a car since Oct 2020 and was impressed with how clean the rental was and that everything was sanitized. I even was provided Clorox wipes. At the height of the pandemic I hadn’t experienced that with my previous rental.The location was ideal. I was so happy I was one L stop away from renting a car to leave my Airbnb. I thought I’d have to pick up at one of the airports.Once I arrived, the staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. I had my rental in no time.My experience returning the car the next day in Washington DC was just as pleasant.Thanks Alamo!

Alamo has the worst possible reservation system, don't trust any online reservation with these guys, I made a one way reservation at this location and they even allowed me to do an online checkin for my rental, despite that this branch did not honor my reservation and they outright rejected my reservation and failed to provide any alternate arrangements despite this being their mistake, I'll never rent a car thru Alamo ever, HORRIBLE

Best customer service experience from a car rental company. Marcus was quick and professional with the return process of the rental car and the location was easy to find and centrally located downtown. Will definitely be coming back for car rentals.

They cancelled something like thirty people's reservations with no warning. This review doesn't reflect on the staff, who were obviously under a lot of stress, but is directed to the company for overbooking and allowing reservations to go through and then cancelling on so many people on the day of. I know southwest caused a big problem, but the reservation system shouldn't allow reservations for cars that aren't available.

Absolutely terrible experience showed up on day of rental and office was closed.no help at all from Alamo ,quite willing to leave myself and my wife stranded in Chicago. thanks God for Avis .Avis where amazing.DO NOT USE Alamo,wish I could give minus stars

I had a one-way rental I picked up Chicago and was taking to LAX. It was easy in, easy out and a very smooth process. If I was in the office 10 minutes, I'd be surprised. Another few minutes downstairs getting the actual car and we were on our way.However, it was a smooth process, probably only because I read other's reviews before going here. I had read some of the horror stories and even made a second rental reservation next door, at a higher cost, in case there were any of the issues I read about.They lost a star, because they asked for a second form of ID, despite Alamo's website requiring only a valid driver's license and a CC. Fortunately, reading those other reviews, I covered my bases and brought my passport.
