Great service. Super knowledgeable and helpful. Room service was quick and the front desk staff remembered my name when I walked past. 4 min walk to red line stop. I stayed during a snowstorm and I had fricken awesome coffee and sat in the lobby and pet puppers. Workout facilities were nice and clean.Nearby activities: Beatrix is right in the hotel. Coffee shop with pastries was spectacular. Sushi-San is around the corner.Walkability: Super easy to walk. 4 min walk to red line stopFood & drinks: Took some g&ts to go back up to the room.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this Aloft in downtown. It was a nice and well appointed room. The front desk folks were lovely and knowledgeable. Even tho the gentleman forgot our breakfast vouchers the person on duty at the time remedied it for us. Great location to walk to the touristy areas and plenty of restaurants to choose from (though Beatrix downstairs was great!). All and all I had lower expectations given aloft being the “bargain W” and I was blown away at all facets of our stay.I also don’t know if this was just being from New York and visiting the Midwest… but everyone was friendly including the housekeepers and other staff moving throughout the building.Would definitely stay again.

The location was very walkable to all of the venues we planned to visit. Lots of good restaurants and convenience stores in the direct area. The hotel lobby is kind of weird the way that it's set up. It's also very dark and uninviting, unlike other Aloft hotels I've been to around the world. The restaurant, Beatrix is connected to the hotel. You can order room service from them. There's also a water refill station and ATM right behind the front desk. They put us on the 18th floor because my boyfriend is a titanium member. The room was pretty small and unremarkable. There are hardly any outlets to charge all of your devices. It would've been difficult if we wanted to work from the room. They do have a computer work area downstairs in the lobby but it's by the revolving door so there's a lot of traffic and a constant breeze coming through. There are some outlets by the bed. The only outlet in the vanity area was under the sink, behind the mini-fridge. Not really convenient if you need to curl or straighten your hair like I did. I will say that the shower was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the view was decent. There was a lot of waiting when it came to the elevators--by employees and guests. They should have separate staff elevators. There were three, but only two ever seemed to be in operation. This hotel served its purpose and was indeed clean but I'd probably look at other Marriot options next time. The ambience needs work. It wasn't dark/sexy. It was more like a dark/sketchy vibe. Kind of just felt like a transfer station, to be honest.

+ Reasonably priced given location and quality+ Very friendly staff+ Clean rooms+ Solid gym (spacious, however overall pretty basic hotel gym)- Location near a hospital. Sirens and emergency vehicles likely to wake one up multiple times a night. Would not recommend if travelling with small children.- Carpets in rooms starting to look outdated

It is downtown and close to everything. Nice quiet hotel. Check-in was quick. It has a restaurant so that is a plus.

My stay at the Aloft Chicago, Downtown River North was excellent! Between the amazing location and in-house amenities, this is the perfect place for a business professional. The rooms are perfect for being productive, and the nearby restaurants and attractions are a great bonus for when you’re off the clock. I will continue to say at this location when I am in Chicago! The General Manager, Esther, is very kind and helpful too. Thank you!Rooms: Tidy, great layout, and very conducive to workNearby activities: Always something to do!Safety: I always enjoy River North.Walkability: Everything is at your fingertips!Food & drinks: Beatrix is an awesome option to order to your room or dine inNoteworthy details: Perfect set up to get some work done.

As an employee of Marriott, here I go again. Everything was perfect about this hotel until it came to housekeeping. For starters, my sister booked under my discount, so of course comparison was made. I was told I couldn’t be on the same floor because he wanted to give me a view. My view is looking at the top of a building versus my sisters actually looking at a view.My disappointment is housekeeping. She had a full housekeeping experience both beds made, trash taken out xyz. All I got was 2 unmade beds, trash taken out and a gang of towels (i appreciate but didn’t need). It always seems like employees or me get the short end of the stick and it’s sad. I have to literally come to google to leave a review because we are not guest in they hotel, so we don’t get sent surveys at the end of our stay even though we still paid to stay here. Also no free late check outs yet we had no problem checking out late at any other hotel I’ve stayed in including the other aloft.

Great hotel in the heart of river north. Awesome staff, great bar/restaurant in hotel and great location. Only reason for 4 star on rooms is they are a bit small but probably expected for being in the city. Parking is expensive but again expected being in the city (we valeted it was easiest). Overall, Was very pleased and would def stay there again.

The Aloft team goes far above and beyond! I highly recommend this hotel. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is perfect. But the staff is what makes this hotel incredible! We ordered food delivery during our stay from a local restaurant, and a drink from our order didn't get dropped off. An Aloft staff member brought a drink to our room a few mins later, at no charge, after hearing about our missing drink. It was such a welcomed surprise. We will definitely be coming back to Aloft. Go book your accomodations with Aloft, don't even look anywhere else!! We've stayed all over the city and this is our best experience.Walkability: Quiet street, roads were blocked off for out door restaurant seatingFood & drinks: Nearby restaurants are incredible! Especially would recommend Sunday.

This is my second time at this facility. The first time, I only stayed overnight. The impression and quality service I received left such a positive impact that I decided to make it my go-to location when in town. Fast forward to today. I came into town to relax for a few days and, of course, decided to book a room at this hotel. I was looking forward to another great experience, but that was burnt to ashes. The young lady who checked me in initially was noted to be giving great service to the clients in front of me. She smiled, laughed, and really took time out to give them "THE EXPERIENCE." Fast forward to me. I was looking forward to at least half of what I saw, but no. What I got was cold indifference. No smile in site. She was very abrupt with me. I remember her saying something to me, and I smiled and said, " it is ok. I have been here before." At the end of the check-in process, I politely advised her that "it would have been nice to get at least 1/10 of the service she gave to the clients before me. " it was no surprise that the room she gave me was on a lower level. I am a believer in excellent quality customer service for everyone, regardless of whether you are the same or different ethnicity. In this instance, I am actually the same ethnic background as the individual who checked me in. The gentleman who checked me the first time was Caucasian. There should be a negative star option because that is really what is deserved for the service today.

I had the pleasure of a brief stay at the aloft. I had a clean comfortable room on the second floor which originally concerned me might be noisy, but wasn’t at all. The late night and early morning staff were pleasant and attentive. The convenient location to the red line made departure even easier.

A very decent place to stay. Despite some unusual occurrences during my stay, the staff were helpful, friendly, and eager to right any wrongs.I arrived a little early and exhaustedly paid $25 for early check in. Valet was a little confusing on arrival as I wanted to park before checking in...but they need your room number to complete the parking process. Or they would PREFER to have that. They begrudgingly gave me a ticket for myself and for the front desk to retroactively apply my room number to my parking voucher. The valet is also shared with the next door Hyatt (I think) hotel so I am sure it can be a little confusing.I got to my room and was very pleased with the cleanliness and the space in general. Very welcoming and comfortable. I wasn't going to be staying terribly long, so I opted to decline housekeeping for the two mornings I was there, but the public areas remained clean and lovely. There was a disturbance on my first night, a couple rooms down (one which required calling the cops and EMS and hotel security and the night manager). It appeared to be handled as calmly and professionally as possible. It was offered to switch me to another room if I felt unsafe and my night was comped. The problem was handled and I only had one more night so I was fine staying in the same room (plus I worried about there being confusion getting my car out of overnight parking if I changed rooms...it was just simpler to stay in the room I was already in).I was on the 9th floor and was a little surprised by the street noises that still made it up and in through the windows. But it was tolerable, plus you've gotta expect some sound in a busy city and being in a popular area. The hotel has a nice business area, some comfortable looking lobby seating, a little market (for basic OTC medicines and snacks and what not). The on-site restaurant (Beatrix) was really nice. It gets REALLY busy on weekends, but I was a single traveler who went down at a weird mid/late-morning time, and who is totally cool sitting at the bar. I wish the bar part stayed open at little later, but it was great for breakfast and lunch. This location is super convenient to a lot of things without being to crazy close to the Magnificent Mile/denser downtown area. Close enough to walk to a lot of things (depending on what you might consider "walking distance" but I was there for 2 nights, 3 days and I walked every where I wanted to go to except for one Uber back to the hotel after the concert I was in town for).I would gladly stay here again. I might try and find cheaper street parking or another cheaper lot I could walk to, but overall I had a lovely stay here. Which is saying a lot, considering the incident that happened that the positives far outweigh the negatives.
