Amazing shop to explore so many vintage and historic pieces. Items range in price from $20-$20,000 so you’re bound to find something you can’t leave without.

Was in this store trying to purchase a couple of items for my Mid Century Modern loft. But the problem I have with this place is that every time I found something I really liked the owner didn't want to sell it because I was told that basically they are mostly a movie/TV prop house and didn't want to sell because they could rent it out over and over again as a prop for a scene in a movie or TV making way more money then selling the item. My assessment of this store is that renting props for movies and TV shows is their main focus. They put outrageous, unrealistic prices on the good items in their store because they really don't want to sell the item unless you pay a really crazy foolish price. They really only want to rent the good items out. They do have some smaller common antique store items for sale but not the really nice unique items. For me, it was a waste of my time. I couldn't purchase anything I liked. There are much better avenues to find these types of items from an owner who really is interested in selling the item and is open to taking a resonable offer and not just renting props and playing games.

Stopped by to check out the space and discovered hundreds of vintage artifacts and treasures. Stewart welcomed us at the front desk and encouraged us to browse three floors of antiques. There’s even a pickle ball court and cafe inside. Great space for private events, shop or to take in all the cool items. Left with vintage spools of silk threads. A perfect birthday present from Stewart ☺️

Interesting to walk around but very very expensive stuff here. Good restrooms with nice soap and hand lotion though ?

This is a very cool building that has been taken over by someone who has no business selling antiques. One would think that with such outrageous prices, the owner would be able to give more information about the providence or age of their items, but the descriptions are sound like they were written by a fourth grader who just discovered a thesaurus. I don’t think I saw a year on any item’s description. Instead, we get the highly informative “probably very old” to “not very old.” Honestly, I feel like I’m getting dumber just writing this, so I’m just going to include pictures of some of my favorite tags and let them speak for themselves. If you have boatloads of money to burn and don’t care about the story behind anything you buy, then you’ll have a ball here.

This place is a gem. I needed a replacement crystal for these fun candlesticks and found it here. Always fun to find unusual statement pieces for your home or business at AA.. Also, stop by their bar area for food and drink. Super cool place

Neat place! Not much in my price range, but really enjoy looking through all the pieces. Museum pieces you can buy!

I called yesterday. Yes, rude owner. I see it is a consistent problem for you in reviews. Being condescending is unprofessional. Try some graciousness.

I would really love to visit this store. The outside looks amazing but I can never see the inside because they are never open. I’ve stopped 3x now and I checked their FB page ahead of time for dates and hours. I’ve tried calling and emailing to confirm times but no one ever responds. It looks like the business is still there but it doesn’t seem like they are ever open.

I'm not going to lie - I loved Architectural Artifacts' Ravenswood space so much more. It was just the coolest, but their new nest, an old school, is not too shabby. I was excited to visit to see what their refreshed inventory looked like, and I did not leave disappointed. They now have a cafe area, so it adds a bit to the outing if one would like to browse, snack, and browse some more.Anyone with an affinity for quirky antiques from all over the world must visit this place. The owner has curated an exemplary collection of things nobody needs, but cool people want. Most of what they have is out of my budget, but it certainly is fun to browse. Eye candy is everywhere. I am not even a hobby photographer, but I love taking photos here. There is just a coolness overload, and I'm there for it!

Very cool place. We were there while they were setting up for a wedding so we did not experience the cafe, but the selection of items in the store are amazing. It's like going to an architectural museum ... very cool! All the staff was also very friendly.

We had an absolutely fantastic time while we stopped in. The cafe is welcoming with a beautiful assortment of cocktails and beverages. The shop has the most incredible collection of such unusual pieces. Every time I walk throughout the building I am continually blown away with the unique finds and how they are so perfectly displayed. This place is a true gem of Chicago. If you're around - definitely explore. You'll find something that is so dreamy.

Update: Sadly last I was in here, the vintage and antique treasures that once filled this place are gone, just happen to see my original review and decided to update it. The glorious room to the right with amazing lights and hardware was the first to vanish a few years ago. Upstairs to the left overlooking the open floor... gone. The amazing European treasures...gone, of course after I move here and buy a 105 yr old- giant house that needs all these things. *Not sure if the second floor artifacts vanishing was temporary, but it appears someone was just there- based on another reviewer claiming they still have things. Old 5 star review: I cannot recommend this place enough. It is PACKED, just full or amazing things! If you need any element for a rehab: hardware, stained glass, cast iron grills, sinks u003d GOLD mine! Cast iron columns, foundry molds, industrial tables, wood ornaments, medicine cabinets, light fixtures, stair railing, enamel signs, furniture, cars- yes cars, industrial carts, work benches, cast iron tubs, cast iron table bases, doors, windows... everything and more! Coming from the east coast, the prices are similar to MD,VA,NJ, u0026 NY, some items are more readily available in Chicago so they're actually much less. ( Iron registers and grates for example). Plan to get here early and plan 3-4 hours for all the floors and rooms. If you carefully look at everything 5-6hrs... I kid you not! Oh yes I forgot: old fountains, carved stone facade, marble fireplace surrounds, radiators, house numbers, door knobs ( Victorian, Craftsman, Eastlake, Gothic, Art Deco...etc), cabinet hardware, hinges, antique doorbell. DO NOT expect scrap yard prices, restore, goodwill, thrift store prices. These are carefully picked and displayed items. There is a lot of time spent and effort finding, gathering, negotiating prices, dismantling, transporting, cleaning (some things), pricing and staging. Keep this mind ;-)
